Sheriff Lamar Guymon presents a flag to Lisa Johnson.

The Emery County Sheriff’s Office remembered fallen officer Jeremiah Johnson’s family recently by hosting a luncheon in their honor. Sheriff Lamar Guymon presented several medals and awards to Lisa Johnson. He also presented a flag and a check for $2,350 which had been collected at Zions Bank. These donations and contributions were made for the Johnson family who lost their husband and father in a traffic accident on May 29. Sheriff Guymon said, “Nothing I can say will ever make it any better. It makes us think about how fragile lives are and how important friends and family are to us. I found this poem I would like to read, ‘Some people come into our lives and quickly go, others come into our lives and leave footprints on our heart and we are never the same. Jeremiah was such a person.”
Sheriff Guymon thanked those responsible for putting the luncheon together. He said, “At this Christmas time we need to think about all of those lives effected by this accident; the truck driver and his family and others.
“We send our best wishes to them. In a situation like this, it is easy to forget there were others involved and deeply effected by this tragedy.”
