Clayton Nelson Berensen

“Gone Home”


FERRON-Our beloved husband, father, grandpa and friend, Clayton Nelson Berensen, 88, returned to Heavenly Father on Feb. 26, 2004 in Ferron. He was born Feb. 10, 1916 in Ferron to James and Venice Nelson Berensen. He married Florene Zwahlen Jan. 28, 1937 and the marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple.
Clayton was a hard worker and worked as a coal miner, railroad car man, the State road department and excelled in carpenter work. In spite of a severe leg injury in 1970 in the coal mine, he continued to work the rest of his life. He enjoyed fishing, carpentry, baseball and genealogy. He was a very spiritual man and loved his membership in the LDS Church where he served in many callings including the bishopric. He also served three missions with his wife. His greatest joy in life was his family and especially his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife Florene of Ferron, children: Gary C. (Jean) Berensen of Price, Bruce N. Berensen of Ferron, Sandra (Roger) Killpack of Ferron, Laurel (Randy) Magnuson of Castle Dale. Clayton is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and his brothers and sisters: Keith Berensen, Marjorie Smith, Everett (Louise) Berensen, Shirley Wood, Boyd (Norma) Berensen, Billie Jean (Albert) Schoenberger, Esta Lee (Joe) Mason, Carlyle (Pat) Berensen, Carolyn Black, Carol (Arlen) Beeton, Richard (Penny) Berensen, sister-in-law Lois Berensen. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jess and Brent, a sister Norma Larsen and four brothers and sisters-in-law, Howard Smith, Lynn Larsen, Don Wood and Alan Black.
Funeral services will be held Tues. March 2, 2004 at the Ferron Blue Hills Ward Chapel at 11 a.m. Viewing was held on Monday evening. Interment will be in the Ferron City Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.

Lorraine Ann Tucker

1929 ~ 2004


Our dear mother passed away peacefully Feb. 26, 2004. She was a loving mother, grandmother and blessed many with her special talents. She will be truly missed by her daughters, family, neighbors and friends.
Born June 24, 1929 to Henry and Tessie Alma Gertson. Tessie later married Walter K. Jensen.
Preceded in death by her husbands: Jesco Wilson and Merrill J. Tucker; father, Henry Gertson; adoptive father, Walter K. Jensen; brothers, Jim Gertson, Ken Jensen, Jack Jensen, Ralph Jensen, Charles Jensen and baby sister, Ellen Marie Jensen
She is survived by daughters: Kathy Wilson, Salt Lake City, Julie Jones, Boise, Idaho, Lauretta Wilson, Phoenix, Ariz., Annette Conley, Highlandville, Mo.; brother, Donald Jensen; sisters: Marion Guhlke and Evelyn Naillon.
A viewing was held March 1 from 6 – 8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and a short viewing before service at church March 2, 12-12:45 p.m. Funeral services will be held March 2 at 1 p.m., Taylorsville 13th Ward, 1495 West Tamarack Road (4567 South). A graveside service will be held Wed., March 3, 11 a.m., Huntington Cemetery.

Alan Lunelli


CARBONVILLE-Alan C. Lunelli, age 56, passed away suddently Feb. 27, 2004 while doing what he loved best, working on his Harley. Born May 7, 1947 in Price to Tullio Louis and Ruby Wilson Lunelli. Married Trish Petersen, June 28, 1969 in Reno, Nev. and together they welcomed their son, Shane into their lives. Shane was Alan’s pride and joy, and best friend.
Alan was a longtime resident of Carbon County and a dedicated employee of Union Pacific for the past 27 years. Served in the US Navy during Vietnam. He loved camping, hunting, and most of all having coffee with his buddies. Alan loved riding his Harley and his memory will ride on with all of us.
Survived by his wife Trish Lunelli, Carbonville; son Shane (Christy) Lunelli, Price; sisters, Ann (Larry) Young, Sandy; Patricia (John) Perla, Hotchkiss, Colo.; step-father, Frank Sporcich, Helper; brothers-in-law, Bob (Joy) Petersen, Taylor (Norma) Petersen, both of Hurricane; sister-in-law, Bonnie Miner, Bellevue, Wash.; and 10 loving grandchildren. Preceded in death by father Tullio Lunelli; mother, Ruby Lunelli Sporcich; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bud and Leah Petersen; and brother-in-law, Jim Miner.
Funeral service Wed. March 3, 2004 at 1 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to service. Interment in Mt. View Cemtery, Helper.

Duane H. Rasmussen


PRICE-Duane H. Rasmussen, age 77, passed away Feb. 25, 2004 at his home in Price. He was born Oct. 25, 1927 in Fillmore to E. Harris and Juel Collister Rasmussen. Duane married Maxine Merritt in 1948, later divorced. He then married Monica Johnson, later divorced.
Duane served in the US Navy during WWII aboard the USS Hornet. He was gifted in many ways, having worked as an accomplished carpenter and furniture maker. He and his family worked a gold mine for 20 years in the Cricket Mountains. His real love was painting. His work is displayed throughout the country and in the Kennedy Memorial Museum.
He is survived by his children: Rick and Vicki Rasmussen of Cleveland, Craig Rasmussen of Cleveland, Jon Rasmussen of California, Paula and Russ Mecham of LaVerkin, Susan Peterson and Ken of Scofield, Julie Rasmussen of California, Todd Rasmussen, also of California, Camille Gordon of Scottsdale, Ariz.; 31 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Also survived by two brothers; Mark Rasmussen and Wayne Collister; and four sisters, Ella Naylor, Gloria Staheli, LaVon Nuttle and Hope Prestwich.
Funeral services will be held Tues. March 2, 2004 at Noon at Fausett Mortuary in Price where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Cleveland Cemetery.

Justin C. Bentley


PRICE-Justin Charles Bentley, age 34, passed away Feb. 26, 2004 while under the loving care of his family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born March 8, 1969 in Price to Charles “Chuck” Bentley and Rhonda Mae Cowan. Married Petrea Oman, Aug. 28, 1993 in Price; they later divorced. Justin married Melany Guymon, July 23, 2003 in Price and he treasured every minute that he shared with Melany and his new family.
Justin graduated from Carbon High School in 1987, the College of Eastern Utah in 1988 with his L.P.N. and as an R.N. in 1990. He also graduated from the University of Utah in 1992 with a bachelors of science in nursing. Justin was a caring and loving caregiver who was a longtime employee of Castleview Hospital in Price.
Justin loved golfing, hunting, biking, riding motorcycles and camping on Ferron Mountain. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his son Tannin.
He is survived by his loving wife, Melany Bentley; son and best buddy, Tannin Ryker Bentley; step-children, Madisyn and Donivyn; all of Price; father, Charles (Jenine) Bentley, Elmo; sister, Heather Marrelli; Justin’s nephew and look-a-like, Kaylab Marrelli; step-father, Lee Bogdin, all of Price; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lamar and GayLa Guymon of Huntington. Justin is also survived by many other loving relatives, friends and co-workers who thought the world of him. He is preceded in death by his mother, Rhonda Bodgin; grandparents, Ferrel and Maxine Bentley; and Konky and Mona Cowan.

Funeral service, Tues. March 2, 2004, Noon, Mitchell Funeral Home. Family was at Mitchell’s Monday night from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services. Interment, Cliffview Cemetery.
