Scott Cameron is a well-known bull fighter.

The San Rafael Pro Rodeo is gearing up for July 29, 30 and 31 in Castle Dale. Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. each evening. Scott Cameron is back by popular demand and will perform with his man eating chicken. Scott will entertain all three nights of the rodeo. Scott and his horse Saturday Nite Racket will perform for the crowd. Saturday Nite Racket is not fast, tall or pretty, but he’s still a pretty good horse. He does have a little problem with his front foot which can be fixed in no time. All Scott has to do is knock him out and trim him back a little with a chainsaw. When Scott gets him fitted with some high speed running shoes he’ll be good as new. Scott and Racket are sure to bring a few good laughs from the crowd. Scott also has a diving board act with a “chigger.”
Scott is extremely funny and his rodeo humor is fresh and new each evening as he can’t remember the jokes he told the night before. Scott is a tremendous barrel man and cowboy protecting machine.
Troy Lerwill will jump a truck and trailer on his motorcycle in true Evel Knievel style and land in the dirt arena. Troy will perform each evening at the rodeo.
A horse colt will be given away during the Thursday night performance. This colt is donated by the Castle Valley ranch and the lucky winner will be pulled from the ticket stubs. So hang onto your ticket stub for your lucky number and you could just leave the rodeo with a horse of your own.
The San Rafael Pro Rodeo is in its sixth year and the Desertview Federal Credit Union is proud to sponsor the rodeo this year.
An event you won’t want to miss is the wild cow milking contest. Contestants compete for cash each evening and winners in the all-around will each take home a belt buckle. Local cowboys wishing to sign up can call the recreation district at 381-2108. There are eight teams that compete in this event and sometimes on Saturday night a couple of wild card teams get out in the arena to add to the confusion.
Tickets for the rodeo are available at all the usual outlets and there is a discount on tickets if purchased in advance.
