Annie Marinoni
PRICE – Anna “Granny Annie” Caserio Marinoni, age 87, passed away Sept. 22, 2004 at home while surrounded by her loving family.
She was born April 16, 1917 in Lead, S.D., to Dominic and Victoria Miglio Caserio. Married John A. Marinoni Nov. 5, 1938 in Lead, S.D.
During the Depression, Annie quit high school and worked to help her mother support the younger family. She never regretted doing it, but reinforced the importance of education on her girls and grandchildren.
She was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church, Price Ladies of Elks, Price Women of the Moose and Stella D’America Italian Lodge 77.
She loved helping others and volunteered at the Carbon County Food Bank, Notre Dame school and church and as a Girl Scout leader. She worked at Campus Inn, Price City swimming pool and Angie’s Dress Shop.
Angie loved to walk, swim, bowl and she was an avid CEU and Jazz basketball fan. She loved to be with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survived by husband, John Marinoni, Price; daughters, Charlene (Paul) Dupin, Price; Judy Leavitt, Las Vegas, Nev.; grandchildren, Paula (Paul) Dupin-Zahn, Kaysville; Pamela (Shane) Dupin-Bryant, Stansbury Park; Joshua (Stacey) Leavitt, Jan Raquel Reardon, both of Las Vegas, Nev.; great-grandchildren, Candace and Courtney Reardon, Las Vegas, Nev.; Patrick and Phillip Zahn, Kaysville; Kendel and Preston Leavitt, Las Vegas, Nev.; Samantha and Zane Bryant, Stansbury Park; sisters, Patricia Marinoni, Price; brother, Clifford (Maxine) Caserio, Lead, S.D.; sister, Stella (Clarence) Leeling, Lead, S.D.; and dear friend, Phyllis (Bill) Baker. Preceded in death by two infant daughters; great-grandson, Ethan Leavitt; parents; brothers and sisters, Lucy Bachelli, Charlie and Joe Venuta, Theresa King, Margaret Larive, Charlie and Stephen Caserio.
Funeral Mass Mon., Sept. 27, 10 a.m., Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church. Vigil service Sunday evening, 7 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family was at Mitchell’s Sunday and Monday one hour prior to services. Committal service, Price City Cemetery.

Margaret Beardall
Margaret Yuvone Mitchell Church Beardall, age 75, from Lawrence formerly Mapleton, died Sat., Sept. 25, 2004, at home. She was born Jan. 20, 1929 in Pleasant Grove, to Joseph Trotter and Secried Irene Tomlinson Mitchell. She married Doyle Church on Nov. 22, 1948, in Las Vegas, Nev., he later died. She married Melvin Packard Beardall on Oct. 14, 1953, in Springville. They were sealed on Nov. 11, 1975, in the Provo LDS Temple.
She graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1949. She served in the primary organization of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on numerous occasions.
She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved gardening and enjoyed her flowers. She spent many hours in the outdoors camping. She loved the time she spent playing Mrs. Claus in the Emery, Carbon, and Sanpete County elementary schools. She looked forward to playing in the Senior Citizen Band, both in Castle Dale and Huntington. Margaret loved playing with her pet bobcat, Roberta, her dogs, Snookers and Snowflake. Her favorite past time was looking for a bargain. She spent many hours going to yard sales and swap meets with her friend Cleo Evans, on Friday and Saturdays.
Margaret is survived by three sons and four daughters: Janice Margaret (Richard) Mecham, Pleasant Grove; Gary Leon (Ann) Beardall, Provo; Brent M. (Connie) Beardall, Spanish Fork; Tammy (Darren) Hardman; Russell Kay (Helen) Beardall; Lynette (Rob) Carter, Washington; Debra (Troy) Vincent, Springville; 23 grandchildren and four great-grandsons; three brothers Roy Mitchell, Von Mitchell, both of Pleasant Grove, and Don Mitchell, West Jordan also survive her.
She was preceded by her first husband, Doyle Church; her parents Joseph Trotter Mitchell and Secried Irene Mitchell; two grandchildren, Michael John Mecham and Lisa Mecham; one sister, Carolyn MacIntyre; brothers, Alfred Mitchell, Robert Mitchell, Joseph Mitchell, and Walter Mitchell.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Sat., Oct. 2, 2004, at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville. Viewing Fri. Oct. 1, 2004, 6:30 – 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the services.

Flo Johnson
HELPER – Florence Louise DeRose Johnson, age 84, passed away Sept. 21, 2004 at Castleview Hospital in Price.
She was born Sept. 23, 1919 in Sunnyside to Frank and Caroline Sicilia DeRose. Married Willard C. “Willie” Johnson Jan. 12, 1946 in Helper. He died Nov. 16, 2000.
Member of the Catholic Church.
Florence spent her entire life as a homemaker, decorating, cleaning and cooking fabulous gourmet meals for her family and friends. Cooking was her life’s passion and, even at the age of 84, her wonderful recipes still circulate throughout Carbon County.
Flo will be dearly missed by her family and a community of friends.

(Frank) Jerant, Salinas, Calif.; sons, Terry (Cheryl) Johnson, Price; Bill (Candace) Johnson, West Jordan; brother, Louie (Lena) DeRose, Springville; sisters, Millie (Nick) Georgedes, Reno, Nev.; Carm DeRose, Helper; five grandchildren, Tony and Mike Jerant; Frank Johnson, Jena Reusch, Melissa Pero; four great-grandchildren, Nicolas, Makenna, Damon and Alex. Preceded in death by parents; and sister, Rose Beckley.

George Marvidikis
PRICE – George Marvidikis, age 72, passed away Sept. 20, 2004 at his home in Price.
He was born April 9, 1932 in Consumers to Mike and Mildred Cave Marvidikis. Married Patricia J. Stroup June 14, 1973 in Denver, Colo. She passed away Nov. 27, 1992.
George was a longtime resident of Carbon County and graduate of Carbon High School.
He loved hunting, fishing and traveling to see his relatives in Salt Lake City and Colorado.
He loved his family dearly and he especially enjoyed being around his children and loved ones.
Survived by sons, Vern Marvidikis, Stacey Marvidikis, Scott Marvidikis, Joel Marvidikis, all of Price; daughter, Loretta Rhodes, LaPine, Ore.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents; daughter, Corrine; son, Shawn; brothers, Jim, Tony, Bill and Andy.
Graveside service Thurs., Sept. 23, 1 p.m., Price City Cemetery. Family was at Mitchell Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to graveside service.
Bertha Cotten
TOOELE/PRICE-Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Bertha Rigney Cotten, age 95, quietly returned to her Heavenly Father Sept. 22, 2004 at the Heirloom Inn in Price.
She was born in Wewoka, Okla. on May 6, 1909 to Lige and Georgia Ann Wood Rigney. Married Monroe B. Cotten , Feb. 2, 1929 in San Antonio, Texas; he passed away Aug. 13, 1986. They have two daughters, Lois (Ray) Telarole, Helper; and Jo Ann (Bill) Griffith, Washington.
She loved her family and was a proud grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.
Longtime resident of Tooele where she was a member of the Lady Elks, Lions Club and a volunteer pink lady. She cherished her membership in Tooele Baptist Church and Holladay Baptist Church and the wonderful friendships she made. She had a great capacity for love and expressed it in many ways throughout her life.
The family would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to the wonderful residents and staff of the Heirloom Inn and all her care givers for the excellent and loving care she received.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband; son; sister; brother; and many other family members.
Funeral service was held Mon. Sept. 27, 2004 at Noon in the Cotten Chapel of the Tooele Baptist Church. Family and friends were at Mitchell Funeral Home in Price on Sunday, and the church in Tooele one hour prior to services. Interment in the Tooele City Cemetery.
