Green River Volleyball plays at Region Tourney

The team celebrates after a win against Monument Valley.

The Green River Pirate Volleyball team finished up their regular season with a game against DeBeque, Colo. They then played in the region tournament on Friday and Saturday in the Spartan Center in Castle Dale. The first match on Friday was against the Altamont Longhorns. They split two games with the Longhorns and in the final game, the Pirates lost 15-17.
In volleyball action on Saturday the Pirates took the first game against the Tabiona Tigers 25-13. Tabiona took the second game 25-19. Green River took the third game 25-19 and also the fourth game 25-12.
In the game for fifth and sixth place, Green River was matched up against Monument Valley and took the match in three games, 25-16, 25-13 and 26-24.
The Lady Pirates will travel to Wayne for a match on Tuesday at 5 p.m. to determine who will enter the state tournament on Friday at UVSC. If the Pirates win they will be making the trip to Provo.
