Republican Brad Johnson
Brad is a rancher from Aurora who has served in the Utah State Legislature representing District 70. Brad is the Chairman of the “Cowboy Caucus”, which represents 22 house members and eight senators. He is the regional whip in the extended leadership, and co-chairman of the Legislative Appropriations Committee for Higher Education. This is the first time a legislator from rural Utah has been co-chairman of that committee. He is a member of the Legislative Process Committee, Natural Resources Standing Committee, Public Education Committee, Water Task Force Committee, and member of the Water Policy Committee-Council of State Governments.
Brad has been instrumental in the passing of important legislation. He was listed as one of the top five most effective legislators in the House of Representatives by the Deseret Morning News. He was influential in reorganizing the Community Impact Board, resulting in $30 million worth of projects for our district. He helped in the merger of SVATC and Snow College for the Richfield campus. He helped get the funding and operational money for the Sevier Valley Center. Legislation to allow Elk Ranching, increased funding for small schools, dam safety legislation, and several bills regarding health for cattle and agriculture, and several wildlife issues bills.

Constitutional Party Bob Sharp
I am Bob A. Sharp, and I am the Constitution Party Candidate for the Utah State House of Representatives, district 70 (Emery, Sevier and Sanpete counties).
American is founded on a Creator God of us all, and all law comes from Him. Americans understand they are created in God’s image and our civil government must acknowledge Him and confirm its actions to His moral law in order to secure our lives, our liberty, our ownership of property and our pursuit of happiness. To that end, the Constitution of the United States was ordained and established for “ourselves and our posterity…Of utmost importance is first, the sanctity of life. We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable (that cannot be given away or taken away-definition, 1973, World Book dictionary,) rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”
The pre-born child, whose life begins at fertilization, is a human being. The Constitution Party affirms that the first duty of the law is to prevent the shedding of innocent blood. The duty of all civil governments is to secure and safeguard the lives of the pre-born without exception. Under no circumstances may the federal government fund of otherwise support any state or local government or any organization or entity, foreign or domestic, which advocates, encourages or participates in the practice of abortion. We also oppose the distribution and use of all abortifacients (birth control pills, patches, and devices who primary or secondary function is to abort a fertilized embryo, child). We oppose the funding and legalization of bio-research involving human embryonic or pre-embryonic cells and all government “legalization” of euthanasia, infanticide and suicide. In contrast, neither Bush nor Kerry has any intentions of making abortion-on-demand illegal. In fact, President G.W. Bush signed legislation in 2002 that increased funding for International Family Planning to $480.5 million and has approved millions for planned parenthood, America’s largest abortion provider.
Some other concerns entail a strong economy, through jobs and manufacturing, based in the USA preserving our sovereignty and independence, and protecting our fourth and fifth amendment rights to due process.
Article I, Section 8, of the Constitution states that Congress shall have the power “To regulate commerce with foreign Nations.” Congress may not abdicate or transfer to others these Constitutional powers. We favor the abolition of the Office of Special Trade Representative, and insist on the withdrawal of the United States from the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT), the World Trade Organization (WTO), and all other agreements wherein agencies other than the Congress of the United States improperly assume responsibility for establishing American trade policies, police state through the Patriot Act and Department of Homeland Security which in effect wipe out your rights to due process. Sixty nine percent of Utahns voted to make it harder for the government to confiscate their home and property in last years general election (Citizen Initiative B) and in this years session, the Utah Legislature, through bipartisan vote, defied this Constitutional right to property by voting to override the voice of the people and give government easy confiscations powers (SB 175 S2) and wipe out your rights to due process.
I have mentioned only a few of the extremely significant freedoms the Republicans and Democratic parties have both been instrumental in wiping out of federal and state levels. Think about it, if you don’t vote for what you believe , you will never get what you really want. I’m running as a Constitution Party candidate because the Constitution Party’s platform is to restore our Constitutional Rights and Freedoms.
