Marriage Enhancement Workshop
Utah State University Extension is sponsoring the United Marriage Enhancement workshop, on April 22 from 6-9 p.m., and April 23 from 9 a.m.-noon, at the Emery County (old courthouse) Building, 75 East Main, room 218. Dr. James Marshall, licensed marriage therapist, will present the workshop. There is a small fee for the workshop. Reserve your spot by calling the extension office at 381-2381.
Drop Dead Gorgeous Triathalon

D.R.O.P.S.
DROPS will be held April 26 at the Fairgrounds, 500 East and 100 South, Castle Dale. Sign-up begins at 11 a.m. First come, first served, do not block private driveways. You must be present to pick up a box. We are not responsible for late deliveries or the quality/quantity of food offered.
Mrs. Utah Pageant
It is time for interested candidates to register and compete for the title of Mrs. Utah America 2005. The pageant will take place June 23-24 at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts in Salt Lake City. Emery’s Pioneer Day Celebration
Emery will once again be honoring July 24 with a celebration. We had such a wonderful response to our arts, crafts, and food booths last year that we are inviting everyone to participate again this year. Set up your booth or table and sell your wares. There is no charge. Just call the Emery Town Office at 286-2417 to register your booth or table so we will know how many to expect. Ask your friends and neighbors to join in the fun. It’s a great place to sell your products and have a good time doing it.
RSVP Recognition Luncheon
The RSVP volunteer recognition luncheon will be held April 21 at 11 a.m. in the Museum of the San Rafael in Castle Dale. For more information contact the RSVP office at 381-2765.
Child Abuse Prevention Utah
An evening of fun and activities for the whole family will be presented by Child Abuse Prevention Utah and Emery County Local Interagency Council. The evening will be April 28 and will begin at 6:30 p.m., at the Emery County Recreation Building, 75 South 400 East, Castle Dale. A light dinner will be served, RSVP to Gareldine Wright at 381-2827.
Food Handler’s Classes
There will be a food handler’s classes for all persons working in food serving establishments. The classes will be taught in Price on April 20 and May 17 at 9 a.m., 4 p.m., and 7 p.m. at the Southeastern Utah District Health Department, 28 South 100 East. Classes will also be taught in Castle Dale on April 21 and May 19 at 4 and 7 p.m., at the health department located at 25 West Main Street. IronHorse Raceway
IronHorse Raceway will have a big bike motocross race on April 23. Racing begins at 10 a.m.
AARP Driver Safety Class
An AARP driver safety class will be held on April 21-22 at the Carbon Senior Center. The eight hour course will be taught from 1:30-5:30 p.m. each day. Defensive driving techniques, how to adjust your driving to age related changes in vision, hearing and reaction time and much more will be taught. Most insurance companies will give a rate discout to those 55 or older who complete this class. There will be no test given, There is a minimal charge for the course. Bookcliff Muzzleloaders Spring Shoot
The Bookcliff Muzzleloaders will host their spring shoot on April 29-30 and May 1. Events will begin Friday at 6 p.m. Shooting starts 9 a.m. on April 30. For more information contact Brandy at 435-472-8668 or Darwon at 435-472-3497.
Veterans of Foreign Wars
A field service officer from the Veterans of Foreign Wars will be in Price at the Workforce Service Center on April 28 from 8:30-10:30 a.m. to assist in understanding and applying for rightful VA benefits. This is a free service.
Emery County Republicans
The Emery County Republican Organizing Convention will be held at the Emery County Recreation Center located at 75 South 400 East, Castle Dale on April 23, which will begin promptly at 7 p.m. All Emery Republican delegates must have a picture ID to receive credentials and a ballot. Delegate registration will begin at 6:15 p.m. and must be registered 15 minutes prior to the convening of the convention. Only elected county delegates are allowed to vote on issues. A new Constitution and Bylaws will be discussed and voted upon. All Emery County residents are welcome to attend. State Republican officers will address the convention.
Castle Country Spring Festival
The Castle Country Spring Festival arts and crafts fair will be held April 29-30 at the Emery County Recreation Center. Friday from 1-8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. There will be entertainment, food, door prizes, $50 giveaway, handcrafted items, candles, scrapbook supplies and much, much more.
April is Immunization Month
The SouthEastern Utah District Health Department will have a special immunization day on April 25 from 8:30-11:30 a.m.
