James Wyler Henrie
James Wyler Henrie, dearest father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2005 in Price. Born July 26, 1915 in Ferron, to Lenora May Nelson and Wyler Daniel Henrie. Married Marietta Larsen in Price, April 20, 1940.
James worked in the coal mine and the coke ovens in Sunnyside. He enjoyed his years running the Highland Dairy in Wellington, and his own family farm in Miller Creek. He was a very hard worker and instilled that attribute in his sons. He and Etta ran Perry’s Boat Camp in Scofield for several years. He loved to fish, hunt, and go camping with his family. He loved doing things with his hands; he was a man of many talents and trades. He will be dearly missed by his family; they will miss his teasing and his great sense of humor. He is a member of the LDS church.
He is survived by his lifelong sweetheart of 65 years, Marietta; his two sons, Jimmy Val (Diane) Henrie of Wellington, and Austin Wyler (Donna) Henrie of Mountain View, Wyo.; grandchildren Jayme (Ross) Sacco, Stacy (Scott) Fincher, Shaunna (Scott) Barney, Jason (Shanelle) Henrie, Deborah (Marcus) Bott, Bryan Henrie, Brett (Stacy) Henrie, Kieth Henrie, Brazure (Christy) Henrie, Claude Henrie, and 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mae (Floyd) Shorts, Leah (Jim) Noyes, Fawn (Sy) Wilder, and Donna Lee Turner (Troy) Johnston. Preceeded in death by parents, sisters, Thelma (Edgar) Blackburn, Hildren (Darrell) Jensen, Genevieve (Alvin) Blackburn; brothers Ted (Bernice) Henrie, and Bud (Margaret) Henrie.
Services will be held Thurs. June 30, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Wellington Stake Center. Viewing will be Wed. June 29 from 7-9 p.m., and one hour prior to services on Thursday. Interment at Wellington City Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
James Michael Shepherd
West Valley City-James Michael Shepherd, beloved son of Jim and Dianne Davis Shepherd passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 25, 2005, at his home in West Valley City. He was born in Salt Lake City, on July 22, 1971.
James attended schools in Kearns and received his diploma in 1989. He was employed for nearly 14 years in the construction insulation business. He took great pride in his work and always did his best. James loved camping, hiking and going full speed on his four-wheeler! His one great dream was to someday find the lost Rhoades gold mine. He spent many days exploring in caves and the Uintah mountains. We believe James has found his gold in heaven. Most of all James dearly loved his family and every minute he spent with them. He also loved his “pupperdogs,” his yellow lab, Sandy and his Sheltie collie, Apache. James was a kind and generous man. He had a special way of lifting your spirits with his wit, his great smile and his “big James” hugs.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
James is survived by his parents Jim and Dianne, Erda; sister Marcy and her husband Bill, Ivins; nephew, Garrett Thompson who he loved so dearly.
Preceded in death by his grandparents Burton (Peewee) and Shirley Davis, Helper; Bob and Marylou Shepherd, Pocatello, Idaho.
Graveside service on Thur. June 30, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Mt. View Cemetery in Helper.
Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home at 233 East Main Street in Price on Thursday two hours prior to the services.
Bonnie Jensen Denney
1914 ~ 2005
Bonnie Jensen Denney, age 91, passed away June 20, 2005 in South Jordan.
Bonnie was born June 5, 1914 in Castle Dale to John Ray Jensen and Adelia Marie Accord Jensen. She married Earl S. Denney on April 11, 1936. Bonnie and Earl lived for a short time in Hunter and then built a home in Granger (West Valley City), where they lived together until the death of her husband on Oct. 5, 1985. Bonnie continued to live in West Valley City until October 2000 when she moved to the Legacy Retirement Residence in South Jordan.
Bonnie is survived by her sister, Ruth Jensen Huntsman, Castle Dale, her daughter, Marcia Denney (Russ) Davis, West Valley City; her son, Larry E. (Martha) Denney, Panama City Beach, Florida; three grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers and grandchild.
Funeral Services were held on Thurs; June 23, 2005 at noon at the Valley View Funeral Home Chapel, 4335 West 4100 South. The family received friends at a viewing from 10 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. prior to the service on Thursday at the Funeral Home. Interment was in Valley View Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to a charity or institution for the care of the elderly, or to a charity of your choice.
The family extends a sincere thank you to the staff of the Legacy Retirement Residence and Legacy House Assisted Living for their loving care and thoughtful service given to our mother.
Calleen Powell Claxton
WELLINGTON-Calleen Powell Claxton, age 66, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister passed away June 24, 2005, surrounded by her family after a brave and valiant fight with bone cancer. She was born April 13, 1939 in Price to Stanley and Clara Bogh Powell.
Calleen graduated from St. John’s School of Nursing in Springfield, Mo. and worked as a registered nurse for more than 30 years. She worked in hospitals in the states of Kansas, Missouri, and Utah finally retiring from Castleview Hospital. She loved music and was a gifted organist volunteering her services at several local churches. She has a very strong faith in God and adored her family and friends. She loved animals, crochet, embroidery, and gardening, was an avid reader, and an excellent cook.
Mom struggled all her life with polio and later in life with post-polio syndrome, diabetes, and cancer. She had an appreciation for the simple things in life and taught her children to embrace life, reach out, and care for others. Calleen was a great mentor to her children and grandchildren. She taught them to always give their best effort at whatever they did in life. Calleen was always thankful for anything anyone did for her.
Survived by her four children: Kimberly (Celso) Montoya Helper; Jeffrey (Kim) Claxton, Aurora, Colo.; Michelle McMinds, Mitchell Ind.; Stephen (Leanna) Claxton, Pleasant Grove; nine grandchildren, Mathew Montoya, Michael Montoya, Melissa Rogers, Ryan Claxton, Jillianne McMinds, Peter McMinds, Bridgett Pemberton, Donald Claxton, and Bronwyn Claxton; two great-grandchildren, Mason Rogers and Maddux Rogers; sister Lynnette (Wendell) Wakefield, Roswell, N.M.; brother Kent (Raelene) Powell, Murray; her dog and faithful companion Molly.
Funeral service Wed. June 29, 2005, at 11 a.m., Wellington Stake Center, 935 East Main, Wellington. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home, Tuesday evening from 7-9 p.m. and at the stake center one hour prior to service. Interment Price City Cemetery, Price.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at Trinity Mission Health and Rehab of Provo for the excellent care they provided Mom in her final days as well as the individuals who prayed and showed concern for her during her illness.
Helen Sorensen
EMERY-Helen Louise Nelson Sorenson, age 91, passed away on June 20, 2005, after a long and fulfilling life. She was the last of her generation on both her side as well as her husband’s side of the family. Born Sept. 20, 1913 to Joseph and Annie Sophia Nelson in Ferron. Married Reuben F. Sorenson Sept. 4, 1941 in the Manti LDS Temple.
Helen was an active member of the LDS Church and enjoyed serving in Primary and Relief Society. She was well known for her cooking and canning skills. She also loved playing the piano. She enjoyed fishing trips with Reuben and taught her children that same joy. She was an accomplished quilter and loved to knit afghans for her children and grandchildren.
Survived by her son R. Lynn (Janet) of Houston, Texas; and six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband Reuben and daughter Leah Louise (Mark H) Williams of Castle Dale. She had two sisters and four brothers, all who preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held June 25, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Emery LDS Chapel. A viewing was held one hour prior to services. Burial in the Emery Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
Debbie Davis
PRICE- Debra June Seely Davis, age 40 passed away June 24, 2005 in Price. She was born Nov. 20, 1964 in Price, to Thomas C. and Carol L. Koskie Seely.
Lifelong resident of Carbon County and a graduate of Carbon High School. Served in the U.S. Navy. Debbie worked as a C.N.A. at the care centers in Price. She loved all animals, but most of all horses. She was a loving mother, daughter, aunt and friend who will be deeply missed.
Survived by her daughter, Krystle Noyes; mother, Carol Seely; nephew, Josh Davis; all of Price; uncle, Stewart (Carolyn) Seely, Payson; cousins, Hope Tarbet, Sandy; Preston (Summer) Seely, Santaquin; Justin Seely, Payson; Stewart (Erin) Seely, Payson.
She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas C. Seely; and sister, Jackie Seely.
Funeral service, Fri., July 1, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to services. Interment, Cliffview Cemetery.
Boyd Kurt Anderson
SALT LAKE CITY-Boyd Kurt Anderson, 44, our loving father, son and brother, passed away peacefully June 26, 2005. Born in Tooele to John Phillip and Laura Belle Wayman Anderson, April 12, 1961. Married Brenda Ennis, later divorced.
Boyd loved life, loved to laugh, had a heart of gold, enjoyed dutch oven cooking, camping, spending time with his family and especially treasured the time he spent with his children.
Boyd is survived by son Kevin Anderson and daughter Mattea Anderson of Arizona; father and stepmother John and Rayona Anderson, Huntington; sisters Grace (Jan) Johnson, Price, Bonnie (Rodney) Wilde, Price, Gay Linn Anderson, Provo, Laura (Duane) Cox, Huntington, Joleen (Paul) Huntington, Orangeville, Sandra (Boyd) Crowther, Taylorsville; brother Kelly Anderson, Palm Beach, Fla., two halfsisters Kara (Chaffin) Pullan, Thompson Falls, Mon., Camie (Richie) Allred, Huntington; four stepbrothers, three stepsisters, many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by mother Laura Anderson, brother Roger Anderson, nieces Janette Wilde and Berdette Richardson.
Funeral services will be Wed. June 29, 2005 at 2 p.m. at the Bennion 15th Ward LDS Chapel, 6250 South 2200 West, Bennion, with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Graveside services Thurs., June 30 at 1 p.m. at the Huntington Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
