Jim Gilson, rear, and the family of Stephanie Beebe with the ATV that she won at the free concert. Kristine Johansen, right, Miss Emery County attendant drew out the winning ticket for Stephanie.

One of the highlights of the recent Emery County fair was the give aways. A child’s ATV was donated by the Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife. Jim Gilson, chapter president for Emery and Carbon counties was on hand at the free concert to give away the ATV. Children from ages 1-12 received tickets for participating in fair activities and these tickets were entered into a drawing. The lucky winner was Stephanie Beebe.
The Desertview Federal Credit Union gave away three prizes at the free Highway 101 concert. Gary Arrington said that the credit union has been a major contributor to the Emery County fair and wanted to participate further by giving away prizes to county residents. Miss Emery attendants, Shawna Rogers and Kristine Johansen helped Arrington draw for the winning tickets.
The first drawing was for a Nascar trip in March with three nights stay at the Aladdin. You needed to be present to win a prize and the first three people drawn out weren’t there and lost the prize. The winner of the Nascar trip was Marcy Wilson. The winner of the pig, cut and wrapped was Mavoreen Anderson. The winner of the two nights stay in Mesquite, plus two rounds of golf was Mike Hurst.
Three computers were also given away at the teen dance. Gift certificates were given away at the home makeover show.
