Corinne Linda Jones
CASTLE DALE-Corinne Linda Jones, age 65, passed away Sept. 3, 2005 in Castle Dale. Corinne was born on Sept. 28, 1939 in Fresno, Calif., the daughter of Farrell and Juanita Nance. She married Jack W. Jones on Dec. 4, 1981.
Corinne enjoyed gardening, traveling, hunting trips with family and the many years she spent farming with her sweetheart.
Corinne is survived by Jack her husband of 23 years; her father, Farrell (June) Nance, Stilwell, Okla.; step-children; Ronda (Kelly) LeRoy, Castle Dale; Cheyenne (Travis) Turner, Price; 17 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; brother Kent (Sharon) Nance, Stilwell, Okla.; sister, Janice (Don) Price, Stilwell, Okla.; also Aunt Billie and Aunt Eleanor, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother, Juanita Nance; a son, Farrell Firm and a step-son, Dale W. Jones.
Funeral services were held on Thurs., Sept. 8 at 1 p.m. at the Castle Dale Stake Center, 33 East Main, Castle Dale. Interment, Castle Dale City Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
The family wishes to express their deep appreciation for the thoughtful care of Rocky Mountain Hospice, family and friends, who made it possible for Corinne to die peacefully at home surrounded by those whom she loved.
Gary Stam
HELPER/HOUSTON, Texas- Gary Lynn Stam, age 46, passed away Aug. 29, 2005 in Houston, Texas, from injuries received in an auto-pedestrian accident.
He was born Nov. 27, 1958 in Salt Lake City to Frank and Carol June Butterfield Stam.
Gary was a loving and caring person who always had a special way with people. He enjoyed visiting, traveling to far away places and making new friends. Gary liked sports and his favorite football team was the Minnesota Vikings. He enjoyed music, the color blue and drawing funny cartoon characters.
Survived by son, Adam Stam, Salt Lake City; father, Frank Stam, Helper; sister, Kathy (Bret) Densley, Helper; brothers, Dennis (Desire) Stam, Odgen; Randy (Sandy) Stam, Idaho; and sister, Debbie Holt, Draper. Preceded in death by mother, Carol June Stam.
Funeral service was held on Sept. 10, 2 p.m. at Helper LDS Stake Center. Family was at the church Saturday one hour prior to service. Interment, Mountain View Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home.
Ann Lambertson
WELLINGTON-Ann Lambertson, age 60, passed away Sept. 2, 2005. Born July 15, 1945 in Salt Lake City to E. Ray and Marie Lane Staley. Married Keith Lambertson, later divorced.
Ann was a longtime resident of Carbon County, where she was a dedicated employee of the Price BLM office for 22 years prior to her retirement.
She will be dearly missed by her family and a community of friends.
Survived by three daughters, Christine Zerkle, Cedar City; Linda Timmons, St. George; Monica Bradsley, Wasilla, Alaska; seven grandchildren; five brothers and one sister.
Graveside service Wed. Sept. 7 at 1 p.m. at Cliffview Cemetery in Price. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home, 233 East Main in Price, one hour prior to service.
James Carter
EAST CARBON/WALES- James Clair Carter, age 85, died at home in Wales Sept. 3, 2005 due to complications of a stroke.
He was born Dec. 14, 1919 in Fountain Green, the son of Arthur Elmer Carter and Sarah Eliza Holman Carter. He married Bernita Everts Carter July 8, 1940, she died June 6, 1999. Married Anita Lamb of Wales on Feb. 11, 2000.
Worked at Horse Canyon Coal Mine for 36 years. Was a proud member of the United Mine Workers of America for most of those years.
He loved the outdoors and collected rocks and arrowheads. Spent much of his spare time camping in Utah, the neighboring states, and his cabin located in Joe’s Valley.
Was always called the Wagon Master by relatives and friend. He led convoys of campers and trailers to his special places of interest for years. He was well known for his storytelling and robust laughter.
He is survived by wife, Anita; children, Sylvia (Cody) Leek, West Valley; Steven (Maggie) Carter, Mesquite, Nev.; and Loralie Carter, West Valley. Also survived by four grandchildren, Rodney Leek, Tracy Brown, Troy Leek and Kandi Sant, and nine great-grandchildren. Also servived by Anita’s children; Burnell (Elena) Bowers, DeLos (Jo) Bowers, Jack (Jackie) Bowers, Marshal (Charlie) Eppler, Karen (Sherwood) Whitlock, Bonnie (Bill) Ormand and Ron (Nicole) Lamb. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Bernita; brothers, Stan, Gerald, Lester; sisters, Reva Swensen and Fern Francom.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Central Valley Medical Center Hospice staff, especially Tiffany Hurst, Deniece Winnie and Kris Cropper, for their loving dedication and care for Clair and Anita.
Funeral services will be Thurs., Sept. 8 at 11 a.m. at the Sanpitch LDS Ward Chapel, in Wales. A viewing will be held at 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment Mt. Pleasant City Cemetery.
Orvil George Williams
WELLINGTON-Orvil George Williams passed away unexpectedly on Mon. Aug. 29, 2005. He was born Feb. 10, 1941 in Spring Canyon (Rains) to Inas Cave Williams, currently residing in West Virginia, and George Williams, deceased.
He was the second of four children: Irvin (JoAnn) Williams, deceased: John Williams, Emery; and Darlene (Paul) Williams Norris, Beckley, W. Va.
He attended Carbon High School and played football until enlisting in the Army and serving his country until his military retirement in 1980. He received numerous awards and declarations, including the Silver Star, Bronze Star and Purple Heart with oak leaf cluster for service in Vietnam. After his military retirement, he became a lay minister in the Baptist faith, working in the Lord’s service in various communities.
He loved fishing, camping, hunting, boating, and playing with his grandchildren. Please remember him in kindness for the joys he brought to others.
Orvil is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sue LeMaster Williams, Wellington; his mother-in-law, Sylvia (LeMaster) Clerico, Price/Salt Lake City; his daughters, Malinda Williams (Clarke) Dunnam, Taos, N.M.; Ariadne “Jeane” Williams Alfaro, Helper; his sons, Patrick Williams, Bellingham Wash., currently serving in Iraq; and Ralph (Bonnie) Williams, Cleveland. He also leaves behind 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. His eldest son, Orvil “Le” Williams preceded him in death in 1996.
A memorial service was conducted on Sat. Sept. 3 at Mitchell Funeral Home in Price, with a fellowship and celebration of his life following at the First Baptist Church of Wellington.

Phyllis Pell
Together Again
Phyllis Pell, 67, of Wellington passed away Sept. 11, 2005, at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, due to complications after surgery.
Phyllis, daughter of Frances and Elsie “Snook” Cooper, was born April 7, 1938 in Pueblo, Colo. Phyllis married John W. Pell in Raton, N.M. on May 2, 1955.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she enjoyed most being with her family. She went to every activity her family participated in to show her support. She also enjoyed spending time with her family at the stock car races. She was very talented and spent her time on many crafts where her skills were well known. Her favorite was painting ceramics at the Carbon County Senior Citizen center where she enjoyed all her many friends there.
Survivors include a daughter, Melody of Wellington; two sons, Bruce of Wellington and Edward “Pete” (wife JayLynn) of Wellington; brothers, Walt Cooper (wife Dorris), Joe Cooper, Irvin Cooper, Johnny Cooper, all of Colorado; a sister Peggy Cooper of Price; brother Arnold Cooper (wife Cheryl) of Wellington; and four grandchildren, Lane “LJ”, John “JD”, Bobbie and Garrit. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, brother Eddie Cooper, and son Darrell.
She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
