Pennies by the Inch continues its 84 year tradition of collecting contributions to provide medical care for needy children at Primary Children’s Hospital. Last year nearly $10 million was expended to cover more than 16,000 hospital visits by needy children at Primary Children’s.
Pennies by the Inch is a volunteer organization in each community throughout the state. These volunteers conduct a door to door campaign to raise the funds needed to continue helping the needy children. One hundred percent of the funds collected are used for patient care. No deductions are made for administrative or fund raising costs. Physicians at Primary Children’s donate their services to patients served by these contributions.
Primary Children’s Medical Center cares for and treats children throughout the Intermountain Region without their ability to pay. This service area is the largest geographical area in the United States for children, ( five intermountain states). The children treated at Primary Children’s are among the highest cases of a critical nature. It is among the top 10 children’s hospitals in the country.
To make a contribution, be generous when the volunteer comes to your door during this campaign. The campaign will run from Sept. 15-Oct. 15 this year. If you miss the volunteer and wish to make a contribution, it can be mailed to: Primary Children’s Medical Center Foundation, 100 North Medical Drive, P. O. Box 58249, Salt Lake City, Ut. 84158, or go on-line at www.penniesbytheinch.org.
