The fourth annual Timber Harvest Tour will take place on Oct. 19 near Scofield. The tour will examine a current timber harvest in a mixed conifer stand. Rarely seen ground skidding machines (FMCs) are being used on this privately owned property. Foresters from Carbon County, the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands, and USU Forestry Extension will be available to lead a discussion and answer questions. The purpose of this tour is to provide an opportunity for landowners to see a timber harvest up close, and to better prepare themselves for forestry practices on their own property, but is open to anyone interested. Brought to you by USU Forestry Extension with support from USDA Forest Service State and Private Forestry.
Meeting Place and Schedule: Meet at 10 am on Wed. Oct. 19 in front of the Scofield Store, in the town of Scofield. The town of Scofield is just south of Scofield Reservoir: Lunch and beverages will be provided, Please RSVP Darren McAvoy by phone 435-797-0560 or e-mail darren.mcavoy@usu. edu.
