The junior high volleyball season came to an end with the final tourney at Mont Harmon. San Rafael Lady Bulldogs received the trophy as league champions and the Canyon View Lady Cougars won the tournament to become the tournament champs.
Coach Bill Wright from Canyon View said, “This was one of the greatest championship teams ever. In my mind and heart they were champions way before they actually won the tournament. I consider them champions because of their work ethic, coachability, and the quality of the individuals they are. They are great young ladies.
“In the tournament they not only showed they were great individuals, but that they could come together as a team. Everyone was vital in winning the championship. This year we were led by captain Adriane Weihing who was truly an inspiration not only by her expert skill, but by her determination to be the best. Assistant captains Kamree Campbell, and Candice Norton made up the back bone of the team with Kamree’s excellent spiking and Candice’s precise passing.
