Robert Dorman


PRICE- Robert “Bob” Dorman, age 85, passed away on Nov. 14, 2005 in Price while surrounded by his loved ones.
“Uncle Bob,” as he liked to be called, was born Aug. 14, 1920 in Westfield, N.Y. to Robert and Shirley Johnson Dorman.
He was an avid sports fan who never missed a Buffalo Bills game. He loved the open road and his many trips back east to spend time with loved ones. One of his biggest joys in life was his animals, and he loved everything from horses to birds. Even though Uncle Bob never had kids he loved the ones around him with all his heart. Uncle Bob was a stubborn man and very set in his ways, but this was one of the greatest things about him. He lived life to its fullest and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Survived by nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, along with many other loved ones in New York and throughout the country. Preceded in death by mother, father, brothers and sisters.
May you rest in peace, hope you’re in a better place. Love your three loving nieces, Darlene, Lisa and Crissy Ranney.
Memorial service was held Sat., Nov. 19 at 5 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home.

George Mortensen


George Holt Mortensen, 67,passed away Nov. 20, 2005 in Ferron. He was born June 5, 1938 in Emery to Grant and Maude Holt Mortensen. In 1955, he enlisted in the US Air Force where he served his country honorably. George loved to play golf. He was the kind of person that had a friend in every town. People knew him no matter where he went and he made friends with everyone.
George is survived by two daughters, Kathi (Dave) Ercanbrack of Kaysville, and Karen (Jeff) Hulstedt of Illinois; three grandchildren and five brothers and five sisters.
Services will be private.

Stan Davis


PRICE-Stanley “Stan” P. Davis, age 88, died Nov. 17, 2005 in Price.
He was born on March 29, 1917 in Scofield to John Sr. and Jane Price Davis. Married Jewell Stone on Jan. 2, 1946 in Price.
Stan was a lifelong resident of Carbon County and member of the Price Chapel- CMA church of Price. He graduated from Carbon High School and served in the U.S. Army during WWII in Europe. Stan worked in various coal mines in the area prior to retiring from Kaiser Steel Local #9958 in 1979. He was a member of the U.M.W.A. for the past 70 years. Stan loved to fish and hunt with his brothers, take rides to Scofield, and most of all he enjoyed being with his family and friends. Stan especially loved going with the “Howa Boys” in the trucks.
Survived by his wife, Jewell Davis: daughter, Linda (Bob) Howa; grandson, Robert Howa; granddaughter, Tiffany Howa; sister, Donna White, all of Price; brother, Bobby (Pat) Davis, Sun Valley, Ore.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ruth (Elmer) Heino, Helper; Loma Davis, Price; Gladys Wright; Bob (Irma) Stone; Gene (Ruby) Stone, all of West Frankford, Ill.; Jack (Pat) Stone, Marion, Ill.; and many loving nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Bus and Earl; and sister, Ellen.
Funeral service, Tues., Nov. 22, 11 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family was at Mitchell’s Monday, 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
Interment, Price City Cemetery.
