Motorcycle enthusiasts from Emery and Carbon counties gathered in Stewarts parking lot Nov. 19 to ride for Santa. Twice a year these men and women set out to enjoy the fresh air, their motorcycles, and each others company all while doing a service for the community.
Riders for Santa was organized to collect toys and donations for children in the community who would not otherwise have a Christmas. These dedicated motorcycle riders have provided a bright Christmas for numerous children throughout the area.
On this particular Saturday, riders arrived with gifts loaded on their bikes and rode to Orangeville City Park. At the park, the toys were accumulated and the group gathered for a photo. The items were then loaded up and taken to Circle of Hope. Circle of Hope locates children who need this helping hand and distribute the gifts at Christmastime.
Following hot chocolate and doughnuts at the park, they continued their days ride. They proceeded to Ray’s Tavern in Green River to enjoy the greatest cheeseburger in the state. Eric Anderson, of Emery, organizer of the ride says “We welcome donations throughout the year. We had a ride during the summer on July 24 at which we gathered a lot of toys also. Donations are still being accepted at Desertview Credit Union under the name Riders for Santa.”
