Letter to the Editor: Controlling terrorism

By PAUL L. YOUNG St. George

Editor:
It has finally happened. A member of the Muslim faith, also a king, has finally stood up and denounced terrorism. From all I have read or heard through the newspapers and air net- works King Abdullah II of Amman, Jordan, a high ranking Muslim has acknowledged and denounced for the first time that Al-Qaida in Iraq used three foreign suicide bombers to attack the hotels in Amman, killing over 57 civilians. A master minded attack planned by a Jordanian born militant Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi.
King Abdullah II stated, “Terrorism is a sick and a cross-border phenomenon. Therefore, eradicating it is the whole worlds responsibility.” These are the exact words President George Bush has been saying from the get go. However Al-Zarqawi has proved two points of certainty. First, he has proved a very fundamental point the Americans can not control Al-Qaida in Iraq or anywhere else, and they are now exporting terrorism outside of Iraq. Also, the Americans with their FBI, OSI and all their high intelligent beings, are not smart enough to capture Osama Bin Laden and Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi. These two, have the potential to force the United States and England to withdraw from Iraq using the same strategy that Mohammed used in the days of the crusaders and was later used against Russia in Afghanistan.
