Letter to the Editor: Hollywierd

By PATRICK N. SUNDSTROM Emery

Dear Editor,
When Mel Gibson’s movie about the last 12 hours of our Savior’s life was released, my wife and I went and watched it. It was without a doubt the most moving and emotional experience I have ever had watching a movie.
I watched with particular disgust how the liberal establishment treated Gibson and his film. As it became one of the most successful films in the history of Hollyweird, Gibson was accused of being everything from a heretic to anti-Semitic. His film was criticized for being to violent. I was not surprised but still disgusted how his film was snubbed by the critics and awards committees.
This weekend, Hollyweird released a movie about two gay cowboys who live in Wyoming. Although it has just been released it is already receiving awards and accolades from the liberal elite. It has already been named as the leading candidate for best picture at the oscars. Now, I don’t know a hell of a lot about making movies, but I do know something about cowboys. I have rode a horse or two and have punched a few cows. I can honestly say I have never met a gay cowboy and if by some chance I have, he kept it to himself. I don’t think two cowboys riding around smooching each other would be tolerated among the cowboys I have rode with. I have never been to Wyoming and if that sort of thing goes on there I don’t want to visit. I have a sneaking suspicion it doesn’t however.
This brings me to my point. I have read a lot of stories lately how the big film studios are struggling and can’t figure out why. I have an idea it is because about every one in a 100 movies Hollyweird makes is a stunning and beautiful masterpiece like the Passion of The Christ, and the other 99 are garbage like the gay cowboy movie.
Since I went to see the Passion and saw how the movie was treated by the liberal elite, I have boycotted Hollyweird. I was thinking of taking my kids to see the new Harry Potter movie but I will not. I will not give any of my hard earned dollars to a bunch of people who are either too stupid or evil at heart to see the damage they are doing to our society. I find it interesting that Hollyweird makes about 90 percent of its money on family oriented films but those films represent only 10 percent of the movies made. This is no accident. It is also no accident that Hollyweird overwhelmingly backs democrat candidates, as the democrats champion Hollyweird’s assault on decency and morality so well. They wont get my money to give to democrats.
