Letter to the Editor: the Congressional Report

By PAUL L. YOUNG St. George

Editor:
If the editor and publishers of our daily and weekly newspapers had the desire and had their readers interest at heart wanting to give their readers information they would like to have, it could easily have a double desiring effect. By giving their subscribers and daily new stand readers information which would increase their readers desire to go to the polls and vote. I suggest they subscribe for the Congressional Report. Published daily, on all activities taking place in our W.D.C. Capitol. Assign an employee to research each publication which is daily, then write an article informing their readers exactly how our Washington delegation voted or did not vote of was marked absent on the bills or issues that came on to the floor in that house the delegate was elected for. I might point out, there are many, many issues where some of our Washington Delegation does not vote but are absent by their choice when certain bills or controversial issues are presented on their floor. As it would endanger them from receiving votes from the various groups or organizations that supported them when their name came up on the voting ballot, where they vote on issues contrary to the group or organizations position. The reader must understand that an absentee vote means a no vote, only it is not on record as such.
