Marie Wakefield Cowley was born in Huntington and has been here since.
She married Pete Grange in 1941, he was killed in World War II. She married Stan Cowley 1947. She has eight children, 28 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Family is very important to her.
If there were one word to describe Marie it would be work. At an early age she worked alongside her father on the farm. Raising eight children she baked bread every week along with bottling fruits and vegetables in the summer from the large family garden. She still has a small garden.
She keeps busy crocheting doilies and afghans for family and friends. Marie served a family history mission in 1995 and has had numerous callings in her ward through the years.
