Shane Jacobson (“Jake”)
HELPER-Shane Jacobson, age 37, passed away Jan. 29, 2006 from the results of an industrial accident.
He was born May 28, 1968 in Provo, to Jay and Sally Gadd Jacobson. He married Wende Gale on July 10, 1993 in Helper.
Shane lived for his family and he loved every minute that he spent with them. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially when he was hunting and fishing with his Dad’s and his “Boy’s.” He loved four-wheeling, barbequing, and was quick with a punch when the boys weren’t paying attention.
He was a graduate of Carbon High School Class of 1986. Shane was very hardworking, honest and he always put his family first. He was currently employed with Andalex Coal Mine where he was regarded as a friend to all. He was very generous, outgoing and he would do anything for anyone.
Shane’s hat, smile, sunglasses and his wave, will always have a special place in our hearts and will never be forgotten.
Survived by his wife, Wende Jacobson, three sons, Derek (Danielle) Gale, Tyler Gale, Conner Jacobson, all of Helper; parents, Jay (Sally) Jacobson, Spring Glen; sister, Michelle (Todd) Hamilton, Price; grandmother, Vivian Jacobson, Price; parents, Dwayne “Dewey” (Barbara) Gale, Helper; sisters, Donie (Shane) Hackney, Deena (Bobby) Schade, both of Price; and many loving uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and a community of many friends.
Preceded in death by his grandparents, James Harold (Lena) Gadd; Donald E. Jacobson; and aunt, Peggy Carter.
Funeral service will be held Thur. Feb. 2, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to service.

HUNTINGTON- Our cherished mother, Helen Brown, has left behind her much loved deserts and garden to share a well-deserved rest with her husband. She passed away peacefully in her home Jan. 21, 2006, leaving her children and grandchildren with memories of a life lived to serve, nurture and create beauty.
Helen was born Jan. 7, 1926, in Orangeville to Samuel Marks Miles and Ella Peacock Miles. She married Carl William Brown in Orangeville on Aug. 8, 1944; that marriage was later sealed in the Manti LDS Temple.
Helen’s was a difficult life, raising her two young sons alone after Carl’s death on April 14, 1962. But Miles and Lee remember most her love of fishing and gardening, her delightful meals, and a tradition of beautiful quilts, needlework and crocheted treasures.
She leaves behind her sons Miles Leon Brown of Brigham City and Mervin Lee Brown of Syracuse; Mile’s wife Jerri L. Brown and children, Rachel Post, Rebecca Smith and Samuel Brown; and Lee’s wife Maureen Brown and children, Liberty Westover, Carl Brown, April Brown and McKenna Brown.
Helen’s legacy included four great grandchildren; Kimball, Caitlin, Nathan and Alyssa. She is also survived by her brother Mervin S. Miles and his wife Gale. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Jane Heiniger and an infant brother.
Viewings were held from 6-8 p.m. on Tues. Jan. 24 at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Jan. 25 at the Huntington Fourth Ward LDS Chapel on Main Street. The funeral followed at 11 a.m. at the Huntington Chapel. She was laid to rest in the Huntington City Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
