Like every other spring sport, the track teams at Emery High School are adjusting to the weather and the cancellation of meets. Emery hosted a meet that was to include more teams but because of rain and wind only Union High showed up. Emery did well in the events held as most relays were canceled due to lack of participants.
Emery also did well in a meet held at Provo High. Teams participating were Provo High, Payson High and Orem High. The boys did well enough to be in the hunt for a win but the lack of numbers did them in. In track, it is always about number of runners, jumpers and throwers.
Here are the Emery boy’s results. Eric Waddoups was first in the 110 meter hurdles, Joaquin Ortega was seventh in the 100 meters, Tyler Killpack and Jex Jensen were third and fourth respectively in the 1600 meters, Tate Jensen was second in the 400 meters, Eric Waddoups also won the 300 meter hurdles, McKay Allred was fourth in the 300 hurdles, Kyle Holmes was eighth in the 300 hurdles, Tyler Killpack took second in the 800 meters, Justin Bernard took 10th in the 800 meters, Joaquin Ortega was seventh in the 200 meters, Tate Jensen took second in the high jump, Cole Bunderson took third in the high jump, Zac Clement won the discus and javelin and took fourth in the shot put, Tylor Christmas was sixth in the shot put and eighth in the discus, Tate Jensen was first in the long jump, Thompson was third in the long jump and Cole Bunderson was seventh in the long jump. Emery won the 4 X 100 relay, the 4 X 400 relay and took second in the sprint medley by less than a second.

The Emery girls also did well but again were hurt due to lack of numbers. Here are Emery girls’ results: Camille Fehlberg took second in the 100 meter hurdles and Allie Stokes took seventh, Rebekah Bott took sixth in the 1600 meters, Camille Fehlberg won the 300 hurdles, Madison Jensen won the high jump and Megan Singleton finished sixth, Billie Jean Reed won the discus with Holly Hatch finishing third and Joni Sperry finishing eighth, Holly Hatch was sixth in the javelin and Billie Jean Reed was ninth, Camille Fehlberg was first in the long jump with Madison Jensen finishing third. Emery took third in the 4 X 400 relay and second in the sprint medley relay.
