During the week of Aug. 14-18, Desert Edge Christian Chapel in Huntington, hosted vacation Bible school. Any children in Emery and Carbon counties were welcome to attend. Tonya Edwards, the children’s education director, lead the VBS for the week, with numerous helpers.
The children gathered at 9:30 a.m. at Desert Edge, and began the day’s activities with Sing and Play Ole’. This was a time to learn songs, a Bible verse, and a Bible story.
For the rest of the time at VBS, the children moved in groups to Maraca Munchies, Cactus Crafts, games, and Bible adventures. Each of these activities were centered around the Bible verse they learned earlier that morning.
All of the children who attended seemed to have a great time, and they each learned a lot about stories from the Bible.
“Vacation Bible school is a great way to teach children about the Bible and Jesus. We had more than 20 children each day for the week. I really appreciate all the help we had from everyone who came each day to teach a class or serve the treats. We also appreciate Price Chapel for lending us the material for VBS. We are going to make this an annual event,” said Edwards.
