Editor,
I read recently that the Salt Lake Tribune doesn’t like the legislation offered by a New Mexico Congressman on R.S. 2477 roads.
I consider myself a passionate supporter of protecting the environment and especially the remote scenic areas of Utah. I have spent many enjoyable days exploring the many dirt roads all over our beautiful state.
Environmental groups seem to support closing dirt roads to protect Utah’s “Natural Treasures.” This always seemed out of whack to me. Without those dirt roads, there is no way anybody would be able to enjoy those “Natural Treasures.” To me, it’s the roads themselves that are the Natural Treasures.
