Esther S. Burgess
PRICE-Our loving wife, mother and grandmother, Ester Scheuer Burgess, passed away Oct. 15, 2006 at home at the age of 90. She was born Dec. 21, 1915 in Copenhagen, Denmark to Albert and Ferna Thomassen Scheuer.
She married Carl P. Wolfrom May 4, 1940 in Cedar City, Utah; he died June 29, 1958. Married Thomas A. Burgess Jan. 2, 1959 in Boulder City, Nev.
Esther graduated second highest in her class from Salt Lake General Hospital as a registered nurse. While residing in Price, she worked at the Carbon Hospital and worked alongside her husband building four homes in the area. She enjoyed gardening caring for her flowers, painting, reading, homemaking, crafts, and tending her grandkids. She will be dearly missed by her family and a community of friends.
She is survived by her loving husband and caregiver, Thomas Burgess, Price; daughters, Mary (Dan) Baxter, Highland, Patsy (Dennis) Jensen, Carbonville; nine grandchildren, Dawn (Shane) McMillan, Taylorsville, Christopher (Angie) Arambula, South Jordan, Jeremy (Angelyn) Jensen, Logan, DaNeen Kirkwood, Spring Glen, Debbie (Robin) Rudman, Wellington, Justin (Tammy) Jensen, Spring Glen, Mike (Stormie) Baxter, Omaha, Neb., Melinda (Mike) Wallis, Cedar Hills, Marcie (Dan) Clawson, Pleasant Grove; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; sister, Ada Stanley, Manchester, Tenn.; brother, Ellis (Dorothy) Scheuer, Provo; special niece, Janet (Tom) Patterick, Price; and special nephew, Joe (Esta Lee) Mason, Price. Preceded in death by her parents, infant son, and sister, Karen Massey.
Graveside services will be held Thurs. Oct. 19, 2006 at noon in the Price City Cemetery. Friends are welcome at Mitchell Funeral Home daily.
Troy C. Auberger
PRICE- Troy Clair Auberger, age 37, passed away at his home in Price on Oct. 14, 2006. He was born Oct. 4, 1969 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Gardell and Karen Ivie Auberger. Married Lorinda Shamaly on June 19, 1990, later divorced. Troy married the love of his life, Penie Kay Leek, Aug. 14, 1999 in Scofield, and they were never apart.
Member of the LDS Church. Lifelong resident of Carbon County and graduate of Carbon High School Class of 1988. Troy had a passion for life, the outdoors and his fondest memories were those he shared with family and friends in his beloved Scofield. Troy was happiest when he was hunting or fishing, and he was always willing to take anyone that wanted to go. Troy was always there to help those in need, even if it made things harder on him. He enjoyed working on anything that was broken. Troy was a friend to all, and his memory will live on through those he touched.
Survived by his wife and love of his life, Penie; sons, Tyler and Michael; daughter, Kayla, all of Price; parents, Gardell (Karen) Auberger, Price; parents-in-law, Samuel (Barbara) Leek, Scofield; brother, Todd (Tammy) Auberger, Ferron; sister, Melinda Auberger and her good friend, Jeremy Anderson, both of Price; grandma-in-law, Dorothy Christensen, East Carbon; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

Jimmy Allred
CLEVELAND- Jimmy Lawayne Allred, age 69, passed away Oct. 10, 2006 in Price.
He was born Nov. 20, 1936 in Cleveland to Doyle and Anna Curtis Allred. He was the oldest of eight children. Married Sally Thorngren, later divorced. Married Paula Hinkins Cordner, later divorced. Married Patsy Black Anderson Nov. 13, 1971.
Jimmy was born and raised on the family farm and remained a farmer his entire life. His jobs as a construction worker and uranium miner were the only things that took him away from Emery County soil for very long. Taking a job in the coal mines brought him back and let him build on the lifelong passion he had as a farmer, sheepman and cattle rancher.
Survived by wife, Patsy, Cleveland; sons, Kip (Kerri), Orangeville; Dorian, Kearns; J.K. (Kimalee), Cleveland; stepdaughter, Laura Anderson, American Fork; stepson Larry Cordner, West Valley; brothers, Royce (Elaine), Bill (Dixie), Arch (Marilyn), all of Cleveland; Pat, Ferron; sisters, Reba (Marvin) Hansen, Elmo; Roanna (Bus) Rich, Cleveland; Leta Mae (David) Robertson, Orangeville; and grandchildren, Kade, Karidon, KC, Lacey, Kameron, Klint and Kanyon. Also survived by special cousins, Mike (Sarah) and Brylei Allred, Clawson; and mother-in-law, Merlin Black, Huntington. Preceded in death by parents; grandson, Laramy; and father-in-law, Rex Black.
Funeral services were held Sat., Oct. 14, noon at the Cleveland church building under the direction of Fausett Mortuary, with a viewing one hour prior to services. A viewing was also held Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the Cleveland Church.
Dick Borrell
MILLER CREEK- Richard Bert Borrell, age 85, passed away Oct. 11, 2006 in Price.
Born May 20, 1921 in Price to Ira and Abbe Acord Borrell. Married Camille Chipman, June 18, 1946 in Las Vegas, Nev. She died Sept. 26, 1959.
Dick was a lifelong resident of Carbon County and graduated Carbon High School in 1939. He honorably served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was a stockman and rancher in Carbon County for many years.
He will be dearly missed by his family and a community of friends.
Survived by children, Richard Borrell; Charleen (Lee) Heath, both of Miller Creek; Edward (Gretchen) Borrell, Sandy; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral service was held on Sat., Oct. 14, noon, at Mitchell Funeral Home. Family was at Mitchell’s Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior on Saturday. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
Evelyn Brown
PRICE-Evelyn Jewell Clark Brown, age 63, passed away Oct. 13, 2006 at home while surrounded by her family. She was born in Oct. 7, 1943 in Long Beach, Calif. to Lawrence and Jewell Smith Clark. Married Terry Leigh Brown Jan. 5, 1985 in Price.
Evelyn had a strong faith in the Lord, and it was through her faith that she so graciously battled her illnesses. She served on the Helper Mission Board and drove bus for the Carbon County Senior Citizens for many years. She loved driving bus and her greatest enjoyment was busing her “little people” everyday.
She loved helping others and spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, camping, horses and reading. Evelyn was dearly loved by her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Survived by her husband Terry, and their baby “Pepper”; children, Stephanie Dunlap, Chris (Georgia) Dunlap, David Udink Jr., all of Price; Gayla (Vince) Strandell, Michigan; Carol (Steve) Feuers, Price; Sue (Pat) Dirks, Price; mother, Jewell Clark, sister Nadeen (Patrick) Crabtree, both of Wellington; daughter, Ann (Ernie) Martinez, Price; mother-in-law, Arline Brown, Price; 18 grandchildren, Charity, Bruce Jr., Christian, Rusty, Angelina, David III, Andrew, Crystal, Shandi, Trenton, Camille, C.J., Lindsey, Ben and Ashley; two great-grandchildren, Tylianna, Isaiah and one more on the way; niece and three nephews, Rochelle, Patrick, Darrin and Jesse. She was preceded in death by her father, and three wonderful sons, Larry, Nathan and “Tuff”.
Funeral service will be held Wed. Oct. 18, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to service. Interment, Price City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society.
Jim Emmett
CLEAR CREEK- James “Jim” B. Emmett, age 71, passed away at home on Oct. 14, 2006. He was born May 17, 1935 in Mammoth, Utah to William A. and Helen Nielson Emmett.
Married Myrna Faye Wallace, March 2, 1957 in Price.
Jim served in the U.S. Army in Fort Lewis, Wash. He worked at Hi-Land Dairy before returning to Clear Creek to work in the coal mining industry as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the U.M.W.A. Local #6788 for 24 years. His sons were his pride and joy. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandson with the special love only a grandfather could give. He will be remembered for his gentle nature and his love for people. He had a love for the little town of Clear Creek and enjoyed making Clear Creek ” A little bit of heaven.”
Survived by his wife, Myrna, Clear Creek; sons, Ron Emmett, West Jordan; Craig (Debbie) Emmett, West Jordan; grandsons, Randy (Kandis) Emmett, Casey, Ronnie, Travis Emmett; granddaughters, Sheryl and Amy Emmett; great-grandson, little Wyatt Emmett.
Preceded in death by his parents; step-brothers, Allan Beveridge, Richard Krebs; and sister, Alice Miller.

Kelly Villa
ELMO- Kelly Francesca Villa, age 12, returned to her Heavenly Father on Oct. 14, 2006 in Wellington, Utah.
She was born March 11, 1994 in Rock Springs, Wyoming to Francisco Javier and Lydia Moosman Villa.
Kelly attended school at the Castle Valley Center in Price. She was a special spirit that touched many lives and she had many special qualities. She liked to play with Lego’s, puzzles and blocks. Kelly liked music and enjoyed singing and dancing. She was very lovable and liked lots of hugs and kisses. Kelly loved to ride the 4-wheeler and take rides in the car. She will be dearly missed and always in our hearts by her family and those who knew her. She will be especially remembered by those who took care of her from Choice’s, Inc., Ed and Jerry Chavez and staff.
Survived by her parents, Francisco Javier and Lydia Villa, Elmo; four sisters, Stacy, Jeanette, Maricela, all of Elmo and Janessa of Price; grandparents, Ralph and Karen Moosman, Elmo; Juan Villa, Sinaloa, Mexico; great-grandparents, Floyd and Lila Golding, Miller Creek; Beth Moosman, Wellington; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
