Louisa Potter Hurst
CLEVELAND-Louisa Potter Hurst, 95, of Richfield, Utah, formerly of Cleveland, Utah, passed away Nov. 19, 2006. She was born on Feb. 13, 1911 in Cleveland to Joseph and Agnes McFarlane Potter. She attended Snow College and graduated with her associate degree in 1931.
She married Robert John Hurst on March 26, 1934 in Price, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized on Aug. 14, 1969 in the Manti LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on April 6, 1961.
Together they had three children, Robert M. (Janet) Hurst, Salt Lake City, Clyde J. (Julia) Hurst, Richfield, Joy L. (Russell) Mickelson, Las Vegas, Nev.
Louisa was an active member of the LDS Church. She served in the Primary, MIA, Sunday School, Relief Society, and family history organizations. As a young woman she loved tap dancing and always enjoyed good music. Her career included secretarial positions, teacher of business courses, and Registrar of the College of Eastern Utah in Price.
Her favorite activities included candy making, crocheting, needlepoint, reading and gardening.
Louisa is survived her children, 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by husband and brothers, Sydney Matthias Potter, Joseph Duncan Potter, Edgar Sampson Potter, James Harold Potter and Joseph Warren Potter.

DeMar Hansen
PRICE-Our loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, DeMar Edward Hansen, age 87, passed away peacefully Nov. 25, 2006 at his home while surrounded by his loving family.
He was born March 23, 1919 in Centerfield, Utah to James and Mary Jacobsen Hansen.
Married “His Girl” Katherine Giraud, on Sept. 2, 1941 in Monterey, Calif. DeMar and Katie raised three wonderful sons, Eddie, Bill and Ryan.
DeMar served his country in the U.S. Army’s 4th Air Depot Group and was honorably discharged after World War II. He retired as a hard working member of the Pipefitters Local Union # 140 in 1981. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and was well known throughout the county for his beautiful vegetable garden and yard.
Survived by his devoted wife of 65 years Katie; three sons, Eddie (Linda) of Montrose, Colo., Bill, Ryan (Dorthy) both of Price; 10 loving grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and many wonderful friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, and six brothers and sisters.
Funeral service will be held Wed., Nov. 29, 2006, 2 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home, 233 East Main Street, Price. Family will be at Mitchell’s Wednesday one hour prior to service. Interment, Cliffview Cemetery with Military Honors by the Price American Legion Post # 3.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Notre Dame Building Fund.
Kay Gibson
HELPER-Our wonderful and loving mother, Katherine Black Gibson, age 84, passed away Nov. 20, 2006 in Price. She was born July 18, 1922 in Blanding, Utah to Acel and Susan Katherine Davidson Black.
She married Wallace B. (Tubby) Gibson Oct. 25, 1938 in Price, Utah. He passed away on March 17, 1986. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo Temple.
Kay was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she was the sports director of Young Women’s for many years. She enjoyed coaching the girls softball team, fishing, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a great cook and made the best banana cream pies. Kay will be dearly missed by her family and many longtime friends.
Survived by her children, Barbara (Jim) Beason, Mava (Bob) Farrell, Stan (Maurine) Gibson, Clifford (Karen) Gibson, all of Helper; sister, LaDean Weight, Grantsville; step-brother Louis Black, Anaheim, Calif.; sister-in-law Leona Black, Provo; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Wallace; son Leonard Gibson; grandson Kevin Ray Gibson; and her brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held Sat. Nov. 25, 2006 at 11 a.m. in the Helper LDS Stake Center. Family was at Mitchell Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and at the church on Saturday prior to service. Interment in the Price City Cemetery.
Bucky Anderson
KENILWORTH-Our loving son, brother and longtime friend, Kent Eugene Anderson, age 50, passed away suddenly Nov. 25, 2006, while at work at Andalex coal mine.
He was born Feb. 13, 1956 in Price, Utah to Merlin and Fern Hyatt Anderson.
Bucky was a lifelong resident of Carbon County, where he was presently employed with Utah American Energy at the Andalex Mine. He enjoyed working with his hands, fishing, hunting, playing cards and rooting for the Cowboys. Bucky had the gift to gab, he loved mining coal with his buddies, and shootin’ the breeze with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by his family and all those who knew and loved him.
Survived by his loving mother, Fern Anderson; brothers and sisters, Eddie (Margit) Anderson, Jerry (Kathie) Anderson, Randy (Gayla) Anderson, Merlynn Anderson, Connie (Paul) Burdis, Richard Anderson; also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many longtime friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Merlin Anderson; and his grandparents.
Funeral service will be held Thurs., Nov. 30, 2006, 11 a.m., at Helper LDS Stake Center. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and at the church Thursday one hour prior to service. Interment, Thursday, 2 p.m. in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Fairis Kathleen Tallerico
HELPER- Our loving mother, grandmother, and friend, Fairis Kathleen Nay Tallerico, age 85, passed away Nov. 26, 2006 in Price. She was born March 7, 1921 in Centerfield, Utah to George Allen and Laura Lydia Hansen Nay.
Married John Tallerico, Dec. 10, 1937 in Wellington, Utah; he died Jan. 21, 2000.
Fairis was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a longtime resident of Castle Gate prior to moving to Helper. Mom enjoyed painting and crocheting. She will be dearly missed by her family and a community of friends.
Survived by her four sons, John R. (Leslie) Tallerico, Roger Tallerico, both of Helper, Roland (Becky) Tallerico, Roy Dean Tallerico, both of Price; two sisters, Viona (Rex) Henderson, Spanish Fork, Dawna Carey, Portland, Ore.; 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by infant daughters, Kathleen and Laurene; infant son, Ray Dell; granddaughters, Michele Marie Tallerico Hamner and Traci Tallerico; brothers and sisters, Leila Sillitoe, Lola Oldroyd, Mary Nielson, Fawn Dola Carroll, Milo Nay, George Nay, Doyle Nay, Nelli Burrows.

Beth Robinson
PRICE- Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Bethel Jerline Ciscell Robinson, age 80, passed away Nov. 24, 2006 in Provo.
She was born Sept. 18, 1926 in Cornina Clayco, Ark. to Mike Marion and Flaudie Mae Henderson Ciscell.
Married Thomas Jefferson Robinson, Aug. 28, 1944 in Charleston Mississippi, Mo.
Mom loved quilting, coloring with her grandchildren, gardening, cooking and collecting dolls.
Survived by her husband, Thomas Robinson; children, Theda Rae Ussery, Helper; Cora Sue (Earl) Cullum, Lawrence; Gary Thomas Robinson, Richard Eugene Robinson, Marilyn Jerline, Daniel Lynn (Victoria) Robinson, all of Price; Joseph Micheal (Denise) Robinson, Spring Glen; sister, Mary (Elmer) Teffertillar, Grandchain, Ill.; 31 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her daughter Catherine Darlene Stone.

Elwood M. Baker
Elwood (Woody) M. Baker, 75, passed away Wed., Nov. 22, 2006 at his home in Belen, N.M. after a lengthy illness. He was born Oct. 8, 1931, in Joseph, Utah to Joseph E. Baker and Lillian E. Myers. He attended school in Carbon and Emery counties in Utah. In 1951 he graduated from North Emery High School in Huntington, Utah. He then went to work at Hillfield AFB in Layton. He was later employed for many years at the Nevada Test Site near Las Vegas, Nev. After he retired, Elwood and his wife, the former Elizabeth Brunyansky Robinson, moved to Belen, N.M. The were married in 1953, and she preceded him in death in 1994.
Elwood will be remembered for his positive attitude about life and his valiant determination to overcome his life’s many obstacles. His wit, laughter, and love could brighten any day. He was a giant among men, and loved by many.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, brother, two sisters, two step-brothers and a step-sister. He is survived by his sisters, Marcella Rhodes of Price, Utah, Deloris Marvidikis of Cleveland, Utah; and many loving nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to Richard and Carolyn Barron, the wonderful staff at Odyssey Hospice, and all others who rendered so much compassionate, loving service on his behalf. A funeral service will be held Tues., Nov. 28, 2006, at 10 a.m., in the Chapel at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Albuquerque, N. M. Services will be performed by Strong-Thorne Mortuary.
