With the completion of the remodeling of the old K-K cafe building, three new businesses have opened their doors in Emery County. Farm Bureau Financial Services, CNS Nursing and Heugly and Olsen law office will operate out of the building in Castle Dale.
The Castle Dale Farm Bureau office provides 401K plans, roll overs, Roth IRAs mutual funds, estate planning services in addition to auto, home and business insurance. The business is operated by Tyler Jeffs, he and his wife, Tiffany, currently live in Price with their new son, Will, and they plan to relocate to Castle Dale next year.
Community Nursing Services Home Health and Hospice will play an even more active role in meeting the home health and hospice needs of Emery County. CNS is Utah’s oldest, freestanding, not-for-profit home health and hospice agency. They have been making house calls since 1928.

The new office is located at 55 West Main Street in Castle Dale next to Boyd’s Family Pharmacy. Linda Beal, RN, MSN, is area manager of the agency. CNS is not new to Carbon and Emery counties and has been providing care here for more than six years. Now with the new office space in Castle Dale, the agency will be more visible and better able to respond in a timely manner. “Our CNS staff members are local people with a real interest in the health and well being of the communities we serve,” stated Beal. CNS is proud to have been a sponsor of the Emery County rodeo and the Emery County fair for the past two years.
Beal adds, “Most people are not aware of all the help they can receive at home through home health and hospice.” While care is available through all ages and stages of life, most of the clients are Medicare age. CNS is a fully certified care provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and a preferred provider for most of the insurance companies serving Utah. CNS also accepts private paying clients. CNS is also a partner with the United Way, increasing their opportunity to provide care for the uninsured and underinsured in our area.
Sonny Olsen will also have an office in the new building providing law services to Emery County residents. The firm Heugly and Olsen specializes in criminal, DUI, divorce, personal injury, business law and civil disputes. Olsen recently graduated from Iowa State school of law. He is a graduate of Emery High and lives in Cleveland with his wife and two children.
All three businesses celebrated moving into their facilities at ribbon cutting ceremonies recently and an open house. The Emery County Chamber of Commerce officiated at the event as the businesses were welcomed to the county. Refreshments were served and community members also visited the new facility throughout the day.
