Commissioners Gary Kofford, Ira Hatch and Drew Sitterud. Commissioner Hatch receives a plaque in honor of eight years as Emery County commissioner.

In the last Emery County commission meeting of the year, Commissioner Gary Kofford on behalf of Emery County honored Commissioner Ira Hatch. This was Commissioner Hatch’s last meeting of his eight year tenure as an Emery County Commissioner.
Commissioner Kofford presented Commissioner Hatch with a gift certificate and a plaque recognizing his service to the citizens of the county.
Commissioner Hatch said, “It has been my pleasure to serve the citizens of this great county. We have the best dedicated employees working for Emery County. It has been a pleasure to serve with the other elected officials. We don’t always agree but that is the basis for good government. We have been able to accomplish a lot of great and good things. There have been challenges throughout the years.
“I appreciate the people and the citizens. It has been a privilege to serve,” said Commissioner Hatch.
Randall Stilson also spoke during the citizen concerns portion of the meeting and expressed his appreciation to Commissioner Hatch for his service. He also expressed his support for the newly elected Commissioner Jeff Horrocks who will be sworn into office on Jan. 2 at 9 a.m.
