At the recent junior high wrestling tournament held at San Rafael Junior High School, Mont Harmon took first place with a score of 269. Canyon View Junior High was second with a score of 242 followed by Helper Junior High with a score of 204, San Rafael Junior High with a score of 180 and Pinnacle Academy with a score of 14. This is Pinnacle’s first year of participation.
Canyon View had four individual champions and San Rafael had one. Canyon View had six second place finishes, three third place finishes and five fourth place finishes. San Rafael had one second place finish, five third place finishes and three fourth place finishes.
First for Canyon View, here are the wrestlers who placed along with their weight and their season record. In the 75 lb. weight, McKoy Allred took third place with a 4-1 record. In the 81 lb. weight, Spencer Fehlberg took first place with a 7-1 record and Tanner Ewell took second place with a 3-3 record. In the 87 lb. weight, Tice Guymon took fourth place with a record of 5-6. In the 93 lb. weight, Colton Collard took fourth place with a 3-6 record.
At 111 lbs., Chet Funk took third place with a 4-3 record. At 118 lbs., Nathan Mecham took second place with a 6-1 record. At 124 lbs., Dusty Jensen took first place with a 5-0 record. At 132 lbs., Jace Guymon took second place with a 7-2 record. At 140 lbs., Keith Bird took first place with a 4-1 record and Cort Jensen took second place with a 2-1 record.
At 148 lbs., Colten Wilcox took fourth place with a 4-6 record. At 155 lbs., Jordan Lake took fourth place with a 2-2 record. At 165 lbs., Derrick Allred took first place with an 8-0 record. At 175 lbs., Garrett Casutt took second place with a 2-3 record. In the heavyweight division, Brandon McCandless took second place with a 5-2 record and Jesse Hofstetter took third place with a 2-1 record.
