This Coke van leaves the road at Wilberg Wash and ends up colliding with this tree.

On Jan. 3 at approximately 1:45 p.m. a delivery truck carrying Coke products left the road at Wilberg Wash. Witnesses say the truck was traveling northbound on SR-10 when it began fishtailing and then crossed the southbound lane of traffic. The truck scraped by one tree and came to rest parked inside another large tree that grows along this stretch of highway.
The driver was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and went through the windshield of the vehicle suffering a severe face laceration.
Castle Dale EMTs responded where they transported the man to Castle View Hospital. The Utah Highway Patrol is investigating the accident. Witnesses at the scene filled out reports detailing their view on what had taken place.
Officers reported the man was very lucky he hadn’t hit the tree head-on as without a seat belt he probably wouldn’t have survived. Wearing your seatbelt can save your life if involved in an accident.
The Castle Dale fire department assisted with traffic control and the Emery County Sheriff’s Office assisted the highway patrol with their investigation of the accident. Coke products were strewn around the tree and all over the ground near where the truck came to rest.
