Commissioner Drew Sitterud reads the oath of office as Gary Kofford, LaMar Guymon, David Blackwell, Jeff Horrocks, Dixie Swasey, Kris Bell, Brenda Dugmore, Steven Stream, Betty Burns and Steven Barton repeat the oath of office.

With the beginning of a new year, comes the swearing in of the Emery County elected officials. Some new faces were among those sworn in along with those previously holding office.
Commissioner Drew Sitterud led the presentation of the installation of the newly elected officials. He commented that for a couple of days he was the only one in the county still in office and in power, but with the need for two commissioners approval before any action could be taken, this new found power was worthless.
Commissioner Sitterud asked the officials to come to the front of the room where he read and they repeated their oath of office after which they signed the paperwork that made it official and put the county back into working order for 2007.
Those officials sworn in were: Emery County Sheriff LaMar E. Guymon who begins his ninth term as the Emery County Sheriff; Commissioner Gary Kofford begins his second term as an Emery County Commissioner; County Attorney David Blackwell begins his fourth term as county attorney; Dixie Swasey begins her fourth term as the county recorder; Steven Barton begins his second term as the Emery County Treasurer; Brenda Dugmore begins her first term as the Emery County Clerk/Auditor; Jeff Horrocks begins his first term as an Emery County Commissioner; Judge Steven Stream continues as the Justice Court Judge a position he has held since Jan. 2005; Justice Court Judge Betty Burns continues as the Justice Court Judge for Green River a position she has held for 16 years in February; Kris Bell begins her second term as the county assessor.
Commissioner Sitterud said, “I appreciate all who serve and who have served in the county. I look forward to working with the newly elected officials.”
