The mountains are a fun place to be. I like going to the mountains and experiencing all of the beautiful scenery. But, the snow is the best.
The snow is the best thing in the world. I love the snow because I can go snowboarding. I like snowboarding because it is a great sport.
I like to go snowboarding with my brothers and all of my friends. I can’t wait to get on the mountain. The air is so crisp and clean. The air is so cold in the mountains that it makes puffy clouds in front of your mouth as you go down the hill. The snow is so wet and cold.

It sucks when you get wet because then you can’t dry out again. One of my favorite times is in the winter on a Saturday morning. I can see Huntington Canyon from my house. The first thing I do when I get up in the morning is pull open the window blinds and look up the canyon. On one such morning I looked up the canyon and decided it would be a good day for snowboarding. I woke up all of my brothers and we put on all of our boarding accessories. An important thing to remember about the mountains is that it gets very cold up there. We needed thermal underwear, heavy socks, heavy shirts, warm snowboarding gloves and beanies to cover our heads. You also need boarding pants, boots and coats that are waterproof. I am always thinking about my stomach so we decided to bring the stove and take some cans of chili. We stopped at the store to get some pop and beef jerky. Last but not least, we loaded the snowboards in the car and headed off to the mountains. I like the ride up the canyon because you can look out the windows and the snow covered hills are so beautiful. When we finally get up to the run, everyone can’t wait to get out in the snow. One of the boarders drops everyone off at the run and then travels down the canyon and picks them up at the bottom of the hill. Then everyone loads up again and they drive them back to the top of the hill. Everyone takes turns driving so you can all get a crack at the boarding run. When it is snowing on the mountain the snow is just like cotton it is a dry powder that settles on the runs. Sometimes the roads on the mountain are slick and icy. The mountains are the best place to be in the winter. I like my mountain here in Emery County. It’s fun sometimes to visit other mountains and do some snowboarding there. Up near Salt Lake there are a lot of mountains with ski resorts.
I like to visit Snowbird, Solitude, Brighton, Sundance, Elk Meadows and others. My brothers work at Snowbird. The mountains are a place where you can go to have fun. The freedom of being in a place so bright and clean is a feeling I never forget and hope to experience again and again. The joy of the mountain is in the peace that it brings to me.
