Peter B. Ardohain
PRICE- Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Peter B. Ardohain, died peacefully on Jan. 20, 2007, due to complications of a massive heart attack on Dec. 13, 2006. He passed away peacefully at his home in Price with all of his family by his side.
He was born Sept. 16, 1924 in Price, the son of Jean and Theresa Giavia Ardohain.
Married Ruth Waterfield on March 31, 1946 in Price.
Pete was a life-long resident of Carbon County where he was a member of Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church, Price Elk’s Lodge #1550, Carbon Country Club, Good Sam’s Club, Carbon County Senior Citizens, UMWA Local 9958, and in the earlier years belonged to the Helper Dance Club.
His greatest love was his family and his trips to Maine to visit his daughter and son-in-law. He enjoyed family get-togethers, camping, hunting, fishing, boating, 4-wheeling, working in his garden, golfing, bowling and operating his backhoe. Pete was very industrious and he enjoyed watching large equipment and their operators. He was always willing to offer his advice. His examples and values were an asset to his family and community.
As a young man, he helped farm on his family’s homestead. Later he worked for over 40 years in numerous local coal mines and retired from Kaiser Steel as a management employee in January 1984. During the 1960s he took a second job working nights at a local welding shop. He was also a craftsman having built several of his own homes and helped in the building of his son’s home.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Ardohain, Price; daughter, Jeanne (George) Smith, Old Orchard Beach, Maine; son, Dennis (Judy) Ardohain, Price; four grandchildren, Pete (Tammy) Ardohain, Price, Michele (Mike) Huff, Price; Kris (Krista) Ardohain, Nephi; and Denise (Tony) Collins, Helper; and one great-granddaughter, Reese Ann Ardohain, Price.
Preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Michael.
Funeral Mass, Fri., Jan. 26, 1 p.m., Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church.
Vigil service, Thursday evening 7 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will gather at Mitchell’s Thursday and Friday one hour prior to services. Committal service; Cliffview Cemetery.
Brent Tatton
HELPER- Our loving husband, father, grandfather and beloved brother, Brent Tatton, age 54, passed away while vacationing with his wife and friends in Mexico on Jan. 18, 2007.
He was born June 12, 1952 in Price, Utah to Lamar and Shirley Toson Tatton. He married Robin Hall Shuss, Aug. 26, 2005 in Helper.
He was a lifelong resident of Carbon County and graduate of Carbon High School. “B.T.” worked for Hydraulic Repairs where he was well known and highly respected throughout the mining industry. He loved life, his family and was a friend to all. Brent enjoyed time in the outdoors, he loved deep sea fishing, NHRA drag racing, dutch oven cooking, and scuba-diving. Brent will be dearly missed by his family and many wonderful friends. “We love you and will miss you Cookie Man.”
Survived by his wife, Robin Tatton, Helper; children, Brian (Jennifer) Tatton, Price; Jaci (Justin) Bracken, Ricci (Joe) Sadar, both of Salt Lake; Misty (Rob) Told, Denver; Andy (Tara) Shuss, Waldon; brothers and sister, Randy (Jennie) Tatton, Salt Lake; Mike (Michelle) Tatton, Spring Glen; Joan (Cory) Burgess, Helper; eight grandchildren, Derik, Preston, Kurtis, Garett, Macen, Traylee, Triston and Kessendra.
Brent was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial service will be held on Sat., Jan. 27 at 11 a.m. at the Helper Auditorium. Family will be at the auditorium Saturday one hour prior to service.
