Richard Larsen
PRICE- Richard Roy Larsen, age 44, passed away suddenly of heart failure on Feb. 4, 2007 at his home in Price.
He was born Nov. 14, 1962 in Moab to Willard G. and Darlenne Willett Larsen.
Richard had a love of music, and a special talent for singing and playing the guitar. He enjoyed performing and entertaining. He will always be remembered for his great impressions of Elvis. Richard was a devoted father, and he especially loved spending time with his boys. They enjoyed fishing, camping, sports and playing games in the park,
Survived by the mother of his children, Donna Warren, Price; sons, Tate Richard and Quenton Melvin Larsen; daughter, Nicole Timothy; granddaughter, Olivia Timothy; all of Price; brother, George A. Larsen, Moab; sisters, Robin G. Larsen, Billings, Mont.; Sally L. Hinck, Sandy; and father, Willard G. Larsen, Sandy. He is preceded in death by his beloved mother.
Funeral service Fri., Feb. 9, noon, at Mitchell Funeral Home, 233 East Main Street in Price. Family received friends at Mitchell’s Friday from 11 a.m.-12 noon. Interment, Grand Valley cemetery, Moab, at 3 p.m.
Scott Lee McArthur
HUNTINGTON-Scott Lee McArthur, 53, loving husband, father, grandpa, and friend of Huntington, Utah passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Feb. 7, 2007, in Price, Utah. He was born on July 21,1953, in Price to Shirl C. and Bessie Sitterud McArthur.
He married the love of his life, Maureen Lemon of Ferron, Utah on April 20, 1973, in the Manti LDS Temple; together they had three wonderful children.
Scott graduated from Emery County High School where he participated and excelled in academics and sports. He graduated from Utah State University with a MBA, while also raising a family, and later earned a Juris Doctorate degree from LaSalle University. He was also a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society
Scott has been a lifelong member of the LDS church, serving in numerous callings; most recently as the Ward Clerk in the Huntington Fourth Ward. He was very dedicated and committed to every endeavor in his life.
His greatest love and joy was his family. He loved spending time with his children, but mostly he looked forward to the time spent with his grandchildren.
Scott is survived by his loving wife, Maureen of Huntington, father Shirl C. McArthur, daughter Heather (Ryan) Sorensen, sons Silas Cyril McArthur and Sandon Lee McArthur; six loving grandchildren who will miss him very much; Adrian, Sydney, Glavin, and Marlee Sorensen, Kyson McArthur, and T’Kiah McArthur. Also survived by sisters, Shirlee Knighton, Shelia Sebring, Sharol Childs, brothers, Stuart McArthur, Shane McArthur. Preceded in death by mother, Bessie McArthur, father-in-law, Ralph Lemon, and nephew, Brad Sebring.
Funeral services were held on Mon., Feb. 12, 2007, at 11 a.m. the Huntington Utah Stake Center. Friends called Sunday evening, Feb. 11, 2007, from 6-8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary, 720 North Center, Castle Dale or one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Ferron City Cemetery.
The family would like to express appreciation to the doctors and nurses at Castle View Hospital.
Dora Vanae (Jones) Caldwell
CLEVELAND- Our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed away suddenly at her home in Cleveland, Utah, Feb. 9, 2007.
Vanae, 66, was born to Van and Dora (Ward) Jones on March 21, 1940.
She was married to Domanic (Doc) Zaccaria and Therril E. Caldwell to both of whom she was divorced.
Vanae worked for more than 40 years as a legal secretary. She was a great asset to every office she worked in.
Her greatest joys in life were her children, grand and great- grandchildren. She loved to spend time with them and watch them grow.
Vanae enjoyed watching tennis and doing crochet and embroidery work. She also loved the holidays and loved to go all out for each one.
A very special part of Vanae’s life was her pets. She loved them as if they were her babies.
Vanae was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was blessed to be able to serve in the auxiliary organizations earlier in her life. She received her endowments at the Vernal LDS Temple in May of 1999.
Vanae was preceded in death by her parents, aunts, uncle, and cousins.
She was survived by her son, Torey (Pam) Jones of Cleveland, her daughter, Kristy (Kevin) Jessen of Altonah, Utah, her granddaughters, Heather (Chris) Blake of Altamont, Utah, Amy Mogensen of Price, Megan Mogensen of Price, Nicole Mogensen of Cleveland, and Deklyn and Mardy Jessen of Altonah, grandsons, Cody Jones of Emery, Matthew Mogensen of Cleveland, who is serving a LDS mission in Arcadia, Calif., and BoDell Jessen of Altonah.
She was also survived by her great-grandsons, Wyatt (Heather and Chris) Blake, Alex (Amy Mogensen) and Bladen Noyes (Megan Mogensen).
Funeral services will be Feb. 13, 2007 at 1 p.m. at the Cleveland LDS Church. V iewing will be held from 11 a.m.-12:45 p.m. prior to services. She will be buried next to her parents in the Cleveland Cemetery under the direction of Fausett’s Mortuary.
The family would like to express their love and gratitude to the family, friends and neighbors who showed their love during this time of need.
