Shuttle Service for Veterans

There are 150,000 veterans in Utah and many of them live in the southern parts of the state. For this reason the VA has sponsored a shuttle service to carry all veterans who cannot drive to the Salt Lake Medical Center for specialty treatment. Under the auspices of the Disabled American Veterans, a new 2005 Ford Freestar Minivan was purchased in 2005 through fund raising efforts in St. George. That van now has more than 120,000 miles logged and will need to be replaced in 2007. Since the service is offered to all veterans in Southern Utah, we are asking them for help in raising the funds necessary to purchase another this time a 12 passenger since the demand has grown. The Dixie Chapter of the DAV is caretaker of the funds and has an account in Wells Fargo Bank to which donations may be made. All are tax deductible under the DAV Tax ID 8761512361. The account is named The Dixie Chapter 7 Disabled American Veterans Van Replacement Fund and can be accessed for donation at any Wells Fargo branch. Questions may be directed to Robert Hansberry at 435-673-8041 or by writing to him at 462 West 300 North St. George, UT 84770. All veterans can be helped through your generosity.
