Ferron residents participated in their annual clean-up on a brisk and cold Saturday morning. Beautification Committee chairman, Emily Neilson said, “The Ferron Beautification Committee is out of hybernation and alive. We were the first city in Emery County to organize a city-wide clean up. On March 24, 80-90 volunteers showed up for the spring project. Many people worked in their own neighborhoods or helped on service projects. Volunteers painted the red curbs and cleaned up main street. The Mayor’s Park was hard edged, the flower beds detailed, the dug-out benches were painted and the fence line was cleaned up. Other groups weeded flower beds at the senior citizen center and the Emery County Care Center. Beautification is what you make of it. It only took us three hours to make a difference.”
The Ferron beautification efforts will continue throughout the spring and summer months. One of their next projects will include planting flowers around the city.
