Jace Vetere
GREEN RIVER-Our loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend, Timothy Jace Vetere, age 18, passed away on April 7, 2007 due to injuries sustained from an off-road motorcycle accident.
He was born Jan. 9, 1989 in Price, Utah to Timothy Jay and LuRey Hatt Vetere.
Jace was an outstanding senior at Green River High School where he participated in sports. He was the catcher for the baseball team and a guard on the basketball team. Jace was a great defensive player and played on the All Star Basketball team in March. Jace threw the javelin for the Pirates and was on the path for taking the state championship. Jace was helping to build the new gym for his high school. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout and Outstanding Boy Scout of the year award. He loved to work with woods and metals and could build just about anything, such as building the gazebo with his brother for his sister’s wedding. For his Eagle Scout project, he built rough lumber benches to place around town. He was nicknamed, “The Machine” because of his strong desire and work ethic, you knew that Jace was the man to get the job done. Jace has been a High Honor Roll student for his entire school career and was awarded Emery County’s Student Hero of the year in 2006. He had a passion for life, the outdoors, and anyone or anything that was in need of his help. When not in school you would find him hunting with his dad, brother, or friends. With Jace’s large hands and even bigger heart, he would find time for the smallest child or oldest adult.
Jace is survived by his parents, Tim and LuRey of Green River; sister, Taffee (Korry) Nielson of Vancouver, Wash.; brother, Weston Vetere, grandparents, Rey Lloyd and LuJuan Hatt, grandfather, Jay Vetere, all of Green River; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and a large group of friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jacqueline Vetere.
His charismatic smile, and contagious laughter will be missed by all those who knew him.
Funeral services, will be held Sat., April 14, 2007, at 12 noon, at the Vetere Farm, located five miles North on Hastings Road. A viewing and visitation for family and friends will begin at 10 am. Interment, Elgin Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made at Key Bank to the Timothy Jace Memorial Fund.
Antonette Salevurakis
PRICE- Antonette Kournianakis Salevurakis, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2007.
Born on Jan. 16, 1921 in the coal town of Mohrland to Emmanuel and Despina (Spadithakis) Kournianakis.
Antonette would leave America for Greece in 1925 and remain in the village of Malaxa, Crete, until the age of 16. After returning to America and reuniting with her parents and siblings, Antonette married Manos Salevurakis on Jan. 28, 1945. The couple had a son, John Manos Salevurakis and was also blessed with a daughter, Charlotte Salevurakis.
Antonette serves as a role model for both her immediate and extended families and will always be held in the highest regard by all who love her. Her determination against adversity and calm strength in the face of both joy and tragedy strongly influenced the character and actions of those around her. We can only pray that we live up to her expectations of us.

She is survived by daughter, Charlotte Salevurakis; grandson, John W. Salevurakis; daughter-in-law, Billie Salevurakis; brother, Tony (Kay) Kournianos; and sister-in-law, Mary Kourianos. Many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends also deeply mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by husband, Manos; sons, John and Nicky; parents; sisters, Helen Manousakis, Mary Katsavrias, and Angelina Pace; and brother, Mike Kourianos.
Funeral service, Tues., April 10, 11 a.m., Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in Price. Trisagion service, Monday evening, 7 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Monday and Tuesday one hour prior to services. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
