PRICE-Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, William R. “Bill” Cave, age 84, passed away at his home on June 26, 2007.
He was born on March 16, 1923 in Castle Gate, Utah to Frank and Birtie Stone Cave.
Married Olympia Listello, July 17, 1941 in Price.
Bill was a lifelong resident of Carbon County where he worked in the coal mines for 38 years, and was a Utah State Mine Inspector for 10 years. Bill loved his family, playing his guitar and fishing. He proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII from January 1944-1946. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survived by his wife Olympia; sons, David (Mildred) Cave, James (Colleen) Cave; daughters, Carol (Larry) Kilcrease, Gaylene (Douglas) O’Brien, Linda (John) Forbush; brother, David Cave, Cheyenne, Wyo.; 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, five sisters, and a grandson, Billy Forbush.
Funeral service was held Fri., June 29, 2007, 11 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family was at Mitchell’s Friday one hour prior to service. Friends were welcomed at Mitchell’s daily. Interment, Price City Cemetery.

Dianna Pearson


PRICE- Our loving daughter, sister, and dear friend, Dianna Lea Pearson, age 39, returned to her earthly father and heavenly father June 25, 2007.
She was born Sept. 7, 1967 in La Mirada, Calif. to Kenneth Lee and Stacy LaVern Andrews Pearson.
Dianna was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a great love for reading and doing arts and crafts. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survived by her loving mother, Stacy Andrews, Price; two brothers and four sisters, Jason Pearson, Price; David Pearson, Salt Lake City; Susanne Pearson, Oklahoma; Miriam Moore, Oklahoma; Barbara Williams; American Fork; Selina Monks, Connecticut.
Preceded in death by her father Kenneth Pearson.
At Dianna’s request no services will be held.

Mildred Bernice Cox


FERRON-Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother, Mildred Bernice Johnson Cox, completed her earthly mission on June 25, 2007, in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the age of 94. She grew up in Woodside, Utah, and lived all of her married life in Ferron, Utah, until the past five years when she resided at LeChateau at Brickyard in Salt Lake City. She was born Oct. 30, 1912, in Woodside, Utah, to Phillip A. and Emma Jane Miller Johnson.
She married Lloyd Glenn Cox on Sept. 23, 1931, in Price, Utah, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. They were married for 61 years and were the parents of eight children. Glenn (Enid), Harold (Gloria), Earl (deceased), Bernice (Jim) Stanton, Max, Emma Dowda, Dora Laine (Ray) Smith and Phillip. She loved everyone unconditionally. She left a large posterity of seven children, 31 grandchildren, 90 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd, son Earl, grandson Phillip Cox Jr., and son-in law Charles B. Dowda, as well as her parents and all of her brothers and sisters.
A viewing was held at the Ferron Creek Ward, 555 South 400 West, Ferron, Utah, at 11 a.m. on Sat., June 30, 2007, followed by funeral services at 12 noon. Burial was in the Ferron City cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.

Katherine Giraud Hansen

“Katie”


PRICE-Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Katherine “Katie” Giraud Hansen, age 85, passed away peacefully at her home while surrounded by her loving family on June 29, 2007.
She was born at her family home on May 14, 1922 in Price, Utah to Pierre and Catherine Larralde Giraud.
Katie was a longtime resident of Carbon County, where she attended Notre Dame Grade School and graduated from Carbon High School. She was a devout Catholic and an active member of Notre Dame Church.
She married her sweetheart DeMar Hansen in Monterey, Calif. on Sept. 2, 1941 and together they shared 65 wonderful years before his passing on Nov. 25, 2006.
Katie enjoyed work and she worked hard all her life. She loved working in her beautiful yard, playing cards, visiting with her friends, cooking, and spending time with and spoiling her grandkids and great-grandkids. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Survived by her loving and dedicated sons, Eddie (Linda) Hansen, Montrose, Colo.; Bill Hansen, Price; Ryan (Dorthy) Hansen, Price; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, with two more on the way; brother, Emil (Lorraine) Giraud, Price; sister, Jeanne Munk, Salt Lake City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her loving husband, DeMar Hansen; brother, Pete Giraud; and her parents.

Funeral mass, Tues., July 3, 2007, 10 a.m., Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church. Vigil service Monday evening 7 p.m. Mitchell Funeral Home in Price. Family will be at Mitchell’s Monday and Tuesday one hour prior to services. Committal service, Cliffview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Notre Dame Building Fund or Rocky Mountain Hospice of Price.

Viola Faye Rogers


Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Viola Faye Rogers, age 48, passed away June 29, 2007.
She was born Oct.1, 1958 in Alton, Ill. to Winnie and Louise Carlton Thompson.
Faye was the most kind hearted person one could ever meet, and her golden heart could never say no. She was loved by all who crossed her path in life and she always had a special love for children. Her fulfillment in life was just being a mother, and she was a fantastic one at that.
Her love of music always brought a smile to her face, but nothing came close to her love of family. Faye was a very proud mother and grandmother who raised four wonderful children.
She had a strong spirit and faith in God. But no matter how hard she fought, she lost the battle with cancer. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
Survived by three sons and one daughter, Austin Thorngren, Adam (Melissa) Rogers, both of Helper, Amanda Rogers, Rock Springs, Wyo., A.J. (Marie) Rogers, Castle Dale; four sisters and five brothers, Carol McGiffen, Kansas, Sharon Maynard, Mississippi, Tom (Nancy) Thompson, Tennessee, Trisha (Dick) Stutte, Pam McCormick and David Martin, all of Nebraska, David (Bonnie) Thompson, Illinois, Billy Thompson, Provo, Danny (Pat) Thompson, Springville, Winnie (Lisa) Thompson, Lehi; seven grandchildren, Andrew, Allyssa and Aaron Lapaille of Kansas, Jared and Sean Rogers of Castle Dale, and Mason and MaKai Rogers of Helper.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Maddux Rogers.
Funeral service, Thurs., July 5, 2007, 10 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday morning one hour prior to service. Interment, Mt. View Cemetery, Helper.

Geneva Tuttle


ORANGEVILLE-Geneva Snow Tuttle passed away on June 30, 2007 in Ferron, Utah of natural causes. She was born on Aug. 7, 1925 in Castle Dale, Utah to Perry Edward and Alga Pauline Oveson Snow. She married J. Blaine Tuttle in the Salt Lake Temple on Nov. 26, 1943. He passed away on April 21, 2007.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She and Blaine dedicated many years to caring for their special daughter Jennifer. She was a compassionate person who found the good in everyone. She had the ability to talk with anyone and make a friend.
She enjoyed music, singing in small groups and choir throughout her life. She was an excellent homemaker, enjoying cooking, sewing and canning. She enjoyed association with many friends and family throughout the community.
She is survived by her children; Richard (Joyce), Medford, Ore.; Janet (Kelly) Jones, Longmont, Colo.; Cathy (Kirk) Olsen, Sandy, Utah; Roger, Orangeville; Alan (Danielle), St. Louis, Mo.; and Jennifer, Price: daughter in law, Cathy (Brent) Hardee, Castle Dale; brothers, Gene Austin (Joan) Snow, Orangeville; Kirk (Helen) Snow, West Valley; Brent (Arlene) Snow, Maricopa, Ariz.; Paul (Emily) Snow, Beaver Dam, Utah; sister-in-law, Geraldine Snow, Washington; 23 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband, parents, sons; Lowell and Jeffrey, brother; LuDene Snow, grandchildren: Tracey and Katrina Tuttle.
The family expresses special thanks to the staff of Emery County Care and Rehab Center.
Funeral Services will be held at the Orangeville LDS Chapel on Thurs., July 5, 2007 at 1 p.m. A viewing will be held from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. prior to services. Burial will be at the Orangeville City Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
