Meet the Miss Emery contestants pageant on July 14 at 7 p.m. at EHS

The Miss Emery pageant will be held on July 14 at 7 p.m. at the Emery High Auditorium. The tickets are available in advance from any of the contestants and also at the Emery County Treasurers office.
The pageant winner will receive a $1,200 scholarship and a laptop computer, the first attendant receives $700 scholarship and the second attendant receives $500.
The winner will represent Emery County at all of the parades in the county. She will prepare for the Miss Utah competition which will be held in June 2008 in Salt Lake.
Contestants will participate in interview, swimwear and fitness, evening wear and onstage question.
Royd Hatt will be the master of ceremonies for the pageant. Jarilyn Spears is the pageant director.
Lacey Branson
Lacey Branson is the daughter of Jason and Trina Branson. She is a 2007 graduate of Emery High School and she will attend school in Virginia later this summer where she will study equine massage therapy. After completing school in Virginia, Lacey will further her education in Colorado or Maui, where she will study equine facilitated learning. Her platform issue is Horses Lead the Way to a Bright Future for Young People. Her talent will be a vocal solo.
Ashlin White
Ashlin White is the daughter of Edward and Kimberlee Rasbold. She recently graduated from Emery High. While attending high school, she enrolled with the College of Eastern Utah and has received her associates degree as well. Her goal is to obtain a double major in both English and business with a minor in Japanese. She then hopes to attend law school. Her platform issue is Helping Families Understand Genetic Disorders. For her talent, she will sing a vocal solo.
Karrie Johansen
Karrie Johansen is the daughter of Nathan Johansen. She graduated from Emery High in 2005 with highest honors, the College of Eastern Utah in 2006, also with highest honors. She is currently attending Brigham Young University. Following graduation from BYU, she plans to attend BYU law school. Her platform is Health and Fitness for Healthier, Happier Tomorrow. For her talent, she will perform a ballet on point.
Tawny Conder
Tawny Conder is the daughter of Tony and Gaylene Conder. She recently graduated from Emery High School, and she plans to attend the College of Eastern Utah this fall and pursue a nursing degree. Her platform is Make the Best Better. Her talent will be a vocal solo.
Shannon Adison
Shannon Adison is the daughter of Forest and Rita Adison. She graduated from Emery High School in 2005 and is currently a junior at Brigham Young University. She is majoring in speech language pathology and audiology. Her platform issue is Improving Self Esteem and Embracing Uniqueness. For her talent, she will perform a Native American fancy dance.
