Emery County Youth Soccer Signups


Registration for Emery County Youth Soccer will be held on Aug. 30 at the Emery County Recreation Center and Cleveland Town Hall from 5-7 p.m.. Teams will be K-2, 3-4 and 5-6. Teams will be chosen by town and age. For more information contact Emery County Recreation at 381-2108 or Darrell Gardner at 653-2352.

Peach Days


The Friday night dinner at the Fairgrounds will be on Aug. 31 at 7 p.m. all proceeds will be going to the miner’s families of the original six and the three that died in the rescue. Dinner cost is $5.00 per plate. There will be a raffle held in conjunction with the dinner with the proceeds also going to benefit the families. A breakfast will be held on Saturday morning and all proceeds will also be given to the miners a families. The cost of the breakfast is $3.00 per plate.

Peach Days Soapbox Derby


Peach Days Soapbox Derby will be held Sept. 8. There is no entrace fee. For more information contact the Ferron City Hall.

Miner’s Wanted


Miner’s from all the towns are invited to come and ride in the Peach Days parade on Saturday morning as honored citizens. We will honor all of our miners for the brave contribution to our communities.

Arapeen ATV Jamboree Ladies Only Ride


The ladies only ride during the Arapeen ATV Jamboree will be held Sept. 5. The cost is $10 and that will cover the lunch. Lunch will be catered on the mountain. All ladies are welcome, just bring your 4-wheeler and meet at fairgrounds park. For more information and to register, call Annette, 384-2690 or Corey, 381-5571. You must pre-register so arrangements can be made for lunch.

Benefit Spaghetti Dinner


A benefit spaghetti dinner will be held for Ruby Cordova on Aug. 29 from 5-7 p.m. at the East Carbon LDS church, 145 Grassy Trail. Adults are $5 and children are $3.

Castle Dale DUP


Castle Dale Daughters of Utah Pioneers will be hosting a lunch and a short program on Sept. 10 at 1 p.m. at the Castle Dale Senior Center. Everyone is welcome to attend. The group also meets together on the second Monday of every month.

Grief Support Group

Spaghetti Dinner Fund Raiser


A spaghetti dinner to raise funds for the families of the miners of the Crandall Canyon mine disaster will be held at the Emery Recreation Center at 100 North and 100 West in Emery Town. The dinner will be on Sept. 10 from 6-8 p.m. with all donations going to the Zions Bank accounts for the miners families. For more information call Eric at 286-2225.

Promises and Dreams

Demolition Derby


Ferron City’s Peach Days Demolition will be held Sept. 8 at 6 p.m. admission is $7. Drivers interested in participating can contact city hall at 435-384-2350 for more information. No Imperials allowed.

San Rafael Back Country Horsemen


The San Rafael Back-Country Horsemen meet the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Old Cleveland Town Hall. The next meeting will be on Sept. 19 when Bill Broadbear from the USFS will discuss trails in the Manti LaSal. Meetings include discussion about rides, service projects, and horse care. Family Night


A free family night will be held on Sept. 12 from 5:30- 8:30 p.m. at Emery High School. Session for parents will be: what not to do when parenting teens, taking stress out of discipline, drug and alcohol identification, internet safety and homework help for parents. Sessions for youth will be dating 101, math fun and games, substance prevention and how to get what you want: manipulating parents. Daycare will be provided. There will be booths, activities and dinner.

Softball Tournament

Trapped Miners Families


A special fund has been set up which goes directly to the families of the trapped miners. To make a donation, call Huntington City Hall at 687-2436 or take that donation to City Hall. No donation is too small.

Little Miss Peach Blossom


The Ferron Little Miss Peach Blossom will be held Aug. 30 at 6 p.m. at the Emery High School auditorium.

Green River Melon Days


Green River Melon Days will be held Sept. 14 and 15. On Sept. 14 activities include softball games, Miss Melon Days Pageant and square dancers. On Sept. 15, vendors in the park all day, entertainment in the park, parade, softball games and other activities. Free all you can eat watermelon in the park.

Peach Days at Emery County Care and Rehab


Raffle tickets will be available to benefit Emery County Care and Rehab. Items to be raffled will include rifle and quilts. There will also be a bake sale, food and entertainment at the center. Festivities began at 10 a.m. Will accept bake sale donations. For more information contact 384-2301.
