Letter to the Editor: Enlightened liberal readers

By PATRICK N. SUNDSTROM Emery

Editor,
I would like to point out how whenever one of your enlightened liberal readers, like Mr. Thornton, writes about one of my horribly thoughtless and deceitful letters, they always supply tons of emotion and virtually no facts. Mr. Thornton feels I am wrong in comparing the Islamic fascists to the Nazi fascists. Apparently the two have nothing in common as far as he can tell. Allow me to supply Mr. Thornton and your readers with a few facts that led me to believe they might have some common goals.
First, the Nazi party was the only political party in Germany after Hitler took power. No dissent against the Nazi party was tolerated. After the Islamic fascists took control of Afghanistan they became the only political party. No dessent against the Islamic fascists was tolerated. Hmmm.
Second, the Nazis believed the world should be dominated and controlled by them and if you were not a member of the party you should be enslaved or killed. The Islamic fascists believe the world should be controlled by them and if you are not a true believer of Islam you should be enslaved or killed. Hmmm.
Third, the Nazis believed the Jews were the biggest threat to the world and attempted to annihilate them and killed six million in the process. The Islami believe the Jews are the biggest threat to the world and want to annihilate them. Hmmm. Seems like they are pretty much alike to me.
I will acknowledge that I did not go to college. I did serve six years in the United States Air Force. Therefore, I probably lack the sheer brilliance that it takes the average enlightened liberal like Mr. Thornton to stare pure evil in the face and refuse to confront it. They instead tear our country to pieces.
Mr. Thornton thinks we should all be watching the liberal mainstream media to see how right they really are. Is that the same media that falsely reported American interrogators were flushing Korans down the toilet at Gitmo? Is that the same media that took video from a known insurgent in Iraq and then attempted to pass the insurgent off as a “budding journalism student”? Is that the same media that falsely reported murders and rapes that did not happen in the Superdome during hurricane Katrina.
Mr. Thornton then wrote how college educators have little time to indoctrinate students. Does he mean wonderful educators like Ward Churchill at the University of Colorado? Mr. Churchill has dedicated practically his entire instruction time to advocating the fall of the United States. There are many more of these professors but I do not have space to cover that.
In closing I would like to remind Mr. Thornton and your readers that I was not advocating for anything in my previous letter. I was just trying to remind people that wars are a lot easier to win when a country is unified. People who do not learn history are doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past. Remember Neville Chamberlain anyone?
