The 2007-08 Emery High wrestling team opened the new season with a 61-5 win over Grand High School. Winning all but one match on the evening allowed the Spartan team to kick off the new season with a bang.
Winning by pins were Clay Collard at 125 lbs., Hayden Hatch at 135 lbs., Cort Jensen at 145 lbs., Jace Guymon at 145 lbs., Landon Huntsman at 160 lbs., Mike Jones at 189 lbs. and Cyal Christmas at 275 lbs.
Winning with a major decision were Wade Bohn at 215 lbs. and Cade Whittle at 152 lbs. McKay Allred at 130 lbs. won by forfeit as did Colton Wilcox at 171 lbs. Joey Stream at 112 lbs. suffered the only loss.
The Emery wrestling team is back on the mat Wednesday night as they host Altamont and then this Friday and Saturday they participate in the Carbon duals at Carbon High School in Price.
