Honors pile on Emery football team

Emery High senior Wade Bohn was recently named First team All-State lineman in both the Salt Lake Tribune and the Morning Deseret News. Wade saw lots of action this past season on both sides of the line, offensively and defensively. Wade led the team with 51 solo tackles, 27 assisted tackles, 4 sacks, 6 hurries on passers and 11 tackles for losses. Wade also caused 3 fumbles.
Three Emery High running backs were named Honorable Mention All-State by both newspapers. Seniors Ryne Jones, Mike Jones and Jordan Gee were all honored for their play. Honorable mention players are not listed by position.
Ryne Jones, at halfback, rushed for 731 yards on 76 carries and scored 8 touchdowns. He also caught 11 passes for 163 yards and 3 more touchdowns. He missed half the season with a foot injury.
Jordan Gee, at wingback, rushed the ball 95 times for 485 yards and 3 touchdowns. Jordan was the leading receiver with 29 receptions for 565 yards and 10 touchdowns. Jordan also returned an interception for a touchdown.
Mike Jones, at fullback, was the leading rusher on the team. Mike rushed 167 times for 880 yards and scored 9 touchdowns.
Named First team All-region were Wade Bohn-DL, Jordan Gee-WB, Mike Jones-DL, Dempsey Jeffs-QB, Nico Ricchetti-OL and Cody Allen-FS.
Named Second team All-region were Ryne Jones-RB, Cyal Christmas-OL and Blake Mortenson-DL.
Named honorable mention All-region 8 were Kyle Johansen-LB, Chance Ariotti-LB, Colby Snow-DB, Cameron Hansen-TE, Sheridan Oviatt-OL and Gatlan Huntington-DB.
Other stats of interest are Jeffs 90 completions in 182 attempts for 1353 yards and 18 touchdowns. Ariotti rushed for 252 yards and 5 touchdowns and Snow rushed for 265 yards and a touchdown. Cody Allen rushed for a touchdown, caught to touchdown passes and also led the team in interceptions with 7.
Nico was the second leading tackler with 69 total and 41 solo tackles. Nico also recovered 3 fumbles to lead the team. Cameron Hansen led the team in sacks with 5 while Chance Ariotti led the team in great hits. Thirteen different Spartans had at least 30 tackles this season, while 9 had at least 40 tackles and seven had at least 50 tackles.
