Delma Leslie
FERRON-Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother, Delma Leslie, age 95 returned to her Father in Heaven on Sat., Dec. 29, 2007 at the Emery County Care and Rehab Center. She was born Aug. 9, 1912 in Emery, Utah the second of seven children born to John Julius and Mary Kristine Jorgensen Christiansen.
Delma grew up and attended school in Emery graduating from South Emery High. She married Easton Leslie on Feb. 11, 1933 in Ferron, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He passed away on Aug. 2, 1997 after 64 years together.
Delma was an active member of the LDS church. Her family was very important to her, and she always looked forward to the family reunions. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, camping and cooking. Delma was blessed with the talent of crocheting which she enjoyed sharing with her family.
Delma is survived by her children: Merrill Leslie (Irma) of Las Vegas, Nev., LaRene Jensen (Earl) of Ferron, Utah, Phylip Leslie (Shauna) of Cedar City, Utah, Linda Burke (Robert) of West Valley City, Utah; two brothers: Merlin Christiansen of Emery, Utah, Vernon Christiansen of Bountiful, Utah, sister: Euphemia Case of West Valley City, Utah; two sister-in-laws: Helen Christiansen of Salt Lake City, Utah and Lila Christiansen of Morgan, Utah; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Delma was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Sylvia; two grandchildren; two brothers: Richard and Relus Christiansen; sister: Irma Box: two sister-in-laws: Jean and Beverly Christiansen; two brother-in-laws: LaNell Case and Varian Box.
Funeral services were held at 12 Noon on Thurs., Jan. 3, 2008 at the Millsite LDS Ward Chapel, 35 West 200 North, Ferron, Utah. Viewing was on Thurs. from 10-11:45 a.m. at the church prior to the services. Interment followed at the Ferron City Cemetery. Services were in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
Arden Mortensen
“Together Again”
PRICE-Arden William Mortensen left this earth life Mon., Dec. 31, 2007, where he was residing at the Heirloom Inn in Price, Utah.
He was born Oct. 20, 1923 in Huntington, Utah to Alma and Maggie Burgess Mortensen. His heart was broken on April 29, 2004, by the passing of his beloved wife Jane.
“Morty” was a general contractor in the Price area for the majority of his working days. His belief in doing the job right no matter what it took was passed on to all who worked with him.
Arden was a quiet, reserved man who took pride in his service to his fellow men and service to his country. He was a respected member of the “Greatest Generation”, a warrior of WW II serving in the Army Air Forces, while stationed in England. He loved to play golf with his partner of 57 years right up to her passing. His kind demeanor and crisp personality will be missed by all who knew him.
Arden is survived by his sister Viola Ponsonby of Redondo Beach, Calif.; also sons and daughter, Drake (Marie) Mortensen, Wellington; Keven (Deb) Mortensen, Price; Murray Mortensen, Farmington, N.M.; Boyd (Alma) Mortensen, Farmington, N.M.; Darla Moore, Elko, Nev. Arden had 10 grandchildren and 8 � great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents, sister Jerry Patrick, and son-in-law Kerrick Moore.
Funeral service was held Sat., Jan.5, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home. Family was at Mitchell’s Fri. evening 5-7 p.m. and Sat. one hour prior to services. Interment Price City Cemetery.
Leone “Sis” Cunningham
CLEVELAND- Glenda Leone (Sis) Cunnigham, age 73, passed away on Jan. 1, 2008.
She was born Oct. 16, 1934 in Cleveland, Utah to Clement J. Johnson and Chrystal Cleone Swaysee.
She married Bill Cunningham on Feb. 16, 1962 and had five children.
Sis loved taking care of her family and the proof was in her cooking. She enjoyed gardening, art and crafts and everything that was beautiful.
Sis is survived by Bill (her husband of 45 years); her son Jay (Kresta) Cunningham; daughter Nancy (Dayna) Jensen; six grandchildren, two sisters, Mary (Lot) Majors; Joy Lynn (Ernie) McFarlane and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by three sons Kalvin, Clint and Todd, four brothers, one sister and their parents.
Funeral service was held Sat., Jan. 5, 2008 at 1 p.m. at the Cleveland LDS Ward. Family was at Mitchell Funeral Home Fri. evening 6-8 p.m. and at the church Sat. one hour prior to service. Interment Cleveland City Cemetery, Cleveland, Utah. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price.
Billy Riche
HELPER/SALT LAKE CITY-Our loving son, father and brother, William “Billy” Joseph Riche, age 31, passed away Dec. 30, 2007 at Pioneer Valley Hospital in West Valley.
He was born on April 1, 1976 in Price, and although our time with him was short, he was blessed with two special boy’s Shad and Stetson Riche.
Billy was a graduate of Carbon High School where he excelled in wrestling and rodeo. He enjoyed the outdoors and his favorite sports were competing in motocross, BMX Racing and rodeo. He loved watching stock car racing, motocross, extreme sports and football on Sunday.
He enjoyed cooking and sharing his new creations with family and friends.
At the time of his passing he was presently employed with Hardwick Truck and Machine. Billy was liked by everyone he met, and he will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his sons, Shad and Stetson Riche; father and step-mother, Derald and Tina Riche, Spring Glen; mother Jackie of Price; brothers, Derald Jr., and Levi Ray Riche, both of Helper; Ricky L. Riche, Spring Glen; sister, Desiree B. (Tom) Robertson, Helper; step-sisters, JoZette (Dan) Algiene, Texas; Antionette (Nick) Rudman, Helper; Adicia Braggs, Texas; special friend, Brandi and her three children, Gage, Karlee, and Talon; and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his uncle, Richard Joseph Riche.

LaVern McKell Fullmer Bunnell
ST GEORGE – LaVern McKell Fullmer Bunnell returned to her Heavenly Father January 4, 2008 after a valiant struggle to recover from surgery.
The final weeks of LaVern’s life were spent at the home of her daughter, Teresa, in Huntington, Utah, surrounded by family who were blessed to enjoy Mother’s keen wit and infectious laugh until her return to her Heavenly Father.
LaVern was born May 25, 1931 in Mapleton, Utah to Clifford and Rebecca Fullmer. She married Dell Bunnell, and they later divorced. Mother devoted her entire life to serving others, including her husband, children, grandchildren, friends and neighbors.
Though she suffered and endured many trials in her life she bore them all silently and never allowed those trials to diminish the smile on her face, the laughter in her voice or the love in her heart. Love radiated in everything she did and she was always trying to feed those she thought might be hungry as she looked for ways to ease their burdens, never thinking of herself.
She had a special relationship with her children and had a profound influence over them. Her life was an example of charity and love and she will always be remembered for the countless acts of kindness she showered upon all who were blessed to know her.
A life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, LaVern was drawn to and found peace in the gentle rhythm of the ocean. She worked in a variety of jobs throughout her long life but her favorite was at the South Gate Golf Course in St. George where she was well loved and sorely missed when she retired.
She will be missed for her cheerful spirit, love, laughter and smile and her family will strive to forever live by the example of selfless caring that is a testament to her life.
She is survived by her children Betty (Doug McHenrey), Tahatchape, Calif.; Randy Bunnell, Mesquite, Nev.; Becky Pigott, Las Vegas; Teresa (Wayne) Nielson, Huntington, Utah; 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; sisters Jane Martell, Provo, Utah; Gerri (Max) Adams, Salt Lake City; brothers Rod (Judy) Fullmer, American Fork, Utah; Sam (Denise) Fullmer, Mapleton, Utah. She was preceded in death by her sons Tom Bunnell and Greg Bunnell and grandsons James Nielson and Tracy Bunnell.
At Mothers request there will be no viewing. There will be a special graveside service at Evergreen Cemetery, Springville, Utah, 1997 South 400 East, on Tues., Jan. 8 at 1 p.m. where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved sons.
The family expresses their love and appreciation for all who have touched Mom’s life in some special way.
Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
Jeanne McMurren
PRICE-Our dear sweet Jeanne McMurren, age 67, passed away on Dec. 26, 2007.
She was born Nov. 26, 1940 in Davenport, Iowa to Leo and Edith McCarthway McMurren.
She was an angel on earth and we know she’s in the loving arms of her family.
She will be dearly missed.
Survived by her sister-in-law, Barbara Griffis, Kahoka, Mo.; two nieces and two nephews.
Preceded in death by her brother Norman and sister Janet McMurren.

Tom Murray
Thomas Jefferson Murray, age 95, died on Jan. 1, 2008 in Price, Utah. He was born Oct. 31, 1912 in Duchesne, Utah to Joseph Ellison Murray and Carrie Jensen. He married Ramona Robb Murray in Price, Utah in July of 1938.
Tom served his country in the US Navy, was a World War II veteran, and served with the Navy Sea Bees. He worked as a construction superintendent, and was a member of the Carpenter’s Union. His favorite hobby was gardening.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and seven siblings.
He is survived by his five children, Marie (Bob) Slavensky of Oregon; Tom (Rheta) Murray of Salt Lake City, Utah; Cheryl (Paul) Nilson of Centerville, Utah; Luana Murray of Colorado; and Brent Murray of Price, Utah; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Sat., Jan. 5, 2008 at 1 p.m. at the Duchesne City Cemetery. Viewing was Fri., Jan. 4, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. at the Fausett Mortuary in Price, Utah, 680 East 100 South. Interment was in the Duchesne City Cemetery. Services were in the care of Fausett Mortuary.

Charmaine H. Jones
HELPER- Charmaine Hill Jones, “Grandma Char”, age 76, passed away Jan. 2, 2008 in Price.
She was born March 12, 1931 in Helper, Utah to Orson and Emma Johnson Hill.
Married LaGrand “Tracy” Jones, on May 24, 1952 in Helper, Utah; he passed away on Feb. 25, 1983.
Charmaine was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a lifelong resident of Helper and a graduate of Carbon High School. Charmaine retired from Carbon County School District with many years of dedicated service. She was always there to help others in need and assisted in numerous projects in the area.
“Grandma Char” will be dearly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Heirloom Inn and Rocky Mountain Hospice for the special care they gave Grandma Char.
She is survived by two daughters and one son, Jodi (Kirk) Mascaro, Helper; Carey (Jeff) Haycock, Price; Tracy (Ellie) Jones, Helper; eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren; brother, Jack (Mary) Hill, Cedar City; sister, Shirley Jensen, Price.
Preceded in death by parents, infant daughter, and brother Terry Hill.
Funeral service was held Sat., Jan. 5, 2008 at 3 p.m. at Helper LDS Stake Center. Family will be at the church Sat. from 1:30-2:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment, Mt. View Cemetery, Helper. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price.

Harry E. Snow
ORANGEVILLE- Harry E. Snow, age 94, passed away Jan. 6, 2008. He was born Dec. 22, 1913, to John Earl and Jeanette Christina Jensen Snow. He married Mary Humphrey on June 10, 1941, in the Manti LDS Temple. Mary passed away September 11, 1987.
Harry grew up in Orangeville and graduated from South Emery High School. He served his country as a Captain in the U.S. Army and is a Veteran of WWII. He received his Law Degree from the University of Utah.
Harry was a member of the LDS church. He served in many capacities including a mission in the Southern States. He also served a mission with his wife in Texas. He was a bishop while living in Moab and a patriarch for many years in the Orangeville Stake.
For 20 years, Harry was the County Attorney in Grand County. He loved the outdoors where he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed farming and raising cattle which he did for many years with his sons. Harry was an honest, hardworking man. He was also very generous and was always helping others.
Harry is survived by two sons: Earl (Fran) Snow of Orangeville, and John (Robin) Snow of Moscow, Russia; 1 sister: Ann (George) Bell of Orangeville, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; parents: John and Jeanette Snow; daughter, Ann; three grandchildren; four brothers: Carl, Wells, Reed, and Kenneth; three sisters: Georgia, Jeanne, Bell, and also an infant sibling.
Funeral services will be held ThursS, Jan. 10, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Orangeville LDS Chapel. There will be a viewing Wed. evening from 6-8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale and Thurs. at the church 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Orangeville City Cemetery. Stew Byrge
CARBONVILLE-Stewart Lynn Byrge, age 51, passed away unexpectedly Jan. 3, 2008. He was born June 5, 1956 in Price to Charles William and Colleen Carlson Byrge.
Stew married Teresa Duncan in the Manti LDS Temple, they later divorced.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Stew honorably served his country in the US Army from 1975-1979. He enjoyed the outdoors, rock hunting, and most of all camping with his children and Patsy. Stew enjoyed working with his hands and he was an accomplished wood worker.
He was presently employed at Horizon Mine as a fireboss and will be dearly missed by his special buddies Pete Eaquinta, David Larsen, Randy Bishop, Vern Lyons, Bob Nichols, Jack Barff, Shane Hansen, and Aaron Prescott all of whom Stew enjoyed working with.
Stew is survived by his children, Sherry (Sam) Beattie, Rodney Adam, Stewart Dillon, and Jared Dallon Byrge; his angel grandson Preston Beattie; parents Chuck and Colleen Byrge, Carbonville; fianc� and dear friend, Patsy Seevers whom he loved dearly, of Carbonville; brothers and sisters, Charles William (Bev), San Antontio, Texas; Linda Lee (Willie) Wilson, Brenda Kay (George) Deeter, Terry Ray (Margie) all of Carbonville; aunts and uncles, Elvin (Bev) Byrge, Spring Glen; Leola (Rick) Callor, Carbonville; Gene (Janis) Carlson, Helper; Barbara Halverson, Layton; Rosalie (Max) Mason, Joyce Carlson, both of St. George; Patsy’s children, Charity Brown, Frederick Jaramillo, Amber Blanchard, Brittany Tryon and six grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins who had a special place in his heart. Stew also leaves behind his faithful companion, “Midnight” his dog.
He was preceded in death by his brother, “Hot Rod,” and his loving grandparents.

Virginia May Snow
Ferron – Virginia May Killpack Snow, age 81, passed away Friday, Jan. 4, 2008.� She was born October 30, 1926 in Dayton, Ohio, to Charles Lyle Killpack and Alma May Baumgardner.�She married Don Clifford Snow on July 22, 1945.�Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on Feb. 21, 1981. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many capacities. Virginia especially loved serving in the primary and working on genealogy.
Virginia was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.� She loved her country and lived a full life in service to others.� She enjoyed working in her yard, cooking delicious food, and being with her family.� Her beautiful singing voice blessed the lives of many.
Virginia is survived by her children Paul (Lee) Snow (Salt Lake City), Susan (Carl) Labbee (Orangeville), Lyle (Shanna) Snow (Alaska), 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Virginia is preceded in death by her husband, Don Clifford Snow, her parents, her brother Lyle Killpack, and two grandchildren, Brinlee Snow and Hyrum Snow.
Funeral services will be at 12 Noon on Friday, January 11, 2008 at the Millsite LDS Ward Chapel, 35 West 200 North, Ferron. A viewing will be on Friday from 11:00 to 11:45 at the church prior to the services. Interment will follow at the Ferron City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.

Ruby Wall Weber
FERRON- Ruby Wall Weber passed away on her 91st birthday-Jan. 4th 2008.� She is the oldest of six children born to Eldwin and Hazel Wall in Myton, Utah. Ruby attended Utah State University where she met Bryan Weber. They married and shared 62 wonderful, eventful years.�
Ruby left behind five of seven children (Colleen, Merlin, Marie, Luana, and Clinton) 26 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her precious husband Bryan, two of her beautiful daughters (Kaye and Joyce) and two grandchildren.�Ruby lived a life of service and commitment to her family and her numerous church callings. She was an accomplished seamstress and a wonderful cook, yet she made time to read and continue learning and improving her mind.
Funeral services were held Mon. Jan. 7, 2008 at the Ferron LDS Stake Center. Burial was at the Ferron City Cemetery. Services were in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
John F. Tochi
PRICE- John Florian Tochi, age 89, passed away suddenly Jan. 4, 2008 at his home.
He was born in CleElum, Washington on Oct. 16, 1918 to Florian and Ida Metchner Tochi.
Married Julie Zele, June 20, 1942 in Price, she passed away on Dec. 19, 1970. Later married Ona Mae Fletcher on June 24, 1972 in Price, Ona died on Feb. 24, 2003.
John was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army Air Corp in Sudan, Egypt from 1942-1946. After returning from the service he began working at Standard Motor and later retired from Horse Canyon Coal Mine where he worked as a mechanic. He also served as a part time dog catcher for Price City for 25 years. John was a honorary life member of Price Elk’s Lodge # 1550, the Slovenian National Benefit Society, S.N.P.J. Lodge # 113 of Price, and a member of the V.F.W. Miner’s Post # 2379.
John took great pride in whatever he did, whether it was working in his yard, or making sure his truck was kept spotless. He loved to ride Harley’s, listen to polkas and dance. He enjoyed celebrating Fathers Day at the cabin and visiting with old acquaintances at the Slovenian picnic each summer. John will be dearly missed by his family and a community of friends.
Survived by three daughters and their spouses, Linda (Byron) Allred, Charlotte (Rick) Davis, both of Price; Becky (Richard) Colombo, Helper; sister, Rose Gasparich, nephew, Tony Bergamin, both of Renton, Wash; six grandchildren, Brian (Lezlie) Allred, Julie (Mike) Myers, Jason (Lisa) Davis, Robert (Jaime) Davis, Kristi Kloepfer, Kami (Gabe) Gutierez and 11 � great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Ida Tochi and Violet Bergamin.

Louise Sherrill
GREEN RIVER – Louise Sherrill, age 89, died Jan. 4, 2008 in Green River, Utah. She was born April 22, 1918 in Storrs, Utah to George Willard Seely and Olive Percy Dickman. She married Ray Sherrill on April 9, 1938 in Price, Utah.
Louise was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Woman’s Club. For 31 years, she worked side by side with her husband at Ray’s Tavern in Green River, Utah. She loved cooking, fishing, gardening, playing cards and was a devoted Utah Jazz Fan. She never knew a stranger – she was loving, caring and always helping others.
She is survived by her children, Arden (Carolyn) Sherrill of Green River, Utah; JoAnn (Bob) Wetherington of Green River, Utah; and LaRae (David) Fullmer of Monticello, Utah; 17 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren; sisters, Allene Spadafora of Green River, Utah; LaRue Hunt of Green River, Utah; and Olive (Odell) Anderson also of Green River, Utah.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Sherrill; daughter, Arden’s twin sister Arlene and husband George Weihing; brother, Don Seeley; sisters, Verda Fraley; and Elizabeth Harper; daughter-in-law, Reida Sherrill; son-in-law, Robert Dugdale; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and her parents.
Funeral Services will be held Tues. Jan. 8, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. at the Green River LDS Ward Chapel.
