Huntington Stake Valentine Social
The Huntington Stake will host a Valentine Dinner and Dance on Feb. 9 at 6:30 p.m. A cordon bleu dinner will be served. A program will be held. Dancing after the program. Al Shakespaere will be the DJ for the event. All adults 18 and over are welcome to attend.
Huntington Elementary Valentine Carnival
Everyone is welcome to attend the Valentine’s Carnival held at Huntington Elementary School on Feb. 8 from 5-7:30 p.m. There will be many games and activities, along with dinner. Sponsored by the Huntington PTA. Tickets 10 for $1.
Relay for Life Kick-off
The Relay for Life kick-off will be held Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. at the Castle Dale Senior Center. Sign ups will be held that night, and the teams that sign up will be able to sign up for $50 instead of $100. If your team brings a new team to sign up, registration will only be $25. There will be a small presentation about different types of fund raising activities. Cold Stone ice cream will let teams sell cakes and a percentage of the sales will go directly to Relay for Life. Huntington City Dog Licenses
Huntington City 2008 dog licenses are now due. Proof of current rabies vaccination must be presented before license may be purchased at the Huntington City Hall or at the Rabies Clinic which will be held at the Huntington City Fire Station on Jan. 26 from 10 a.m. to Noon and Feb. 23 from 9:30 a.m. to noon.
Food Handler’s Classes
There will be Food Handler’s classes for all persons working in restaurants, bars, nursing homes, school cafeterias, convenience stores or deli’s. Classes will be taught in Price on Jan. 15, Feb 12, and March 4 at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Southeastern Utah District Health Department located at 28 South 100 East in Price. Classes will also be taught in Castle Dale on Feb. 21 and March 27 at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Health Department located at 25 West Main in Castle Dale. Second Annual Ferron Fireman’s Winter Dinner Social
Come and enjoy a meal with us at the second annual Ferron Fireman’s Winter Dinner Social, Jan 25 at 6 p.m. at the Ferron Firestation. Chili and scones will be served. Cost of the dinner is $5 per person. All proceeds will go towards a thermal imaging camera.

The Emery County Fair is now accepting applications for food and general vendors for the Emery County Fair which will be held on July 30, 31, Aug 1 & 2. To be an exclusive food vendor, you must have your application into the Emery County Recreation office by March 21. Castle Dale Stake Adult Dinner
Castle Dale Utah Stake will be hosting a stake adult dinner on Feb. 9, at the stake center in Castle Dale starting at 6 p.m. The theme of the dinner will be “Heaven’s Not That Far” with entertainment by Joshua Creek (inspirational country music). Tickets are $10 per person. Get with someone from your ward activities committee to purchase your ticket before Feb. 3.

Rabies clinics will be held at the Fairgrounds metal building on the following dates: Jan. 19 with Dr. Jensen from 10 a.m.-noon; and Jan. 26 with Dr. Truman from 10 a.m.-noon.

Winter Ball Camp
The Rocky Mountain School of Baseball will hold its 15th Annual Winter Ball Camp on Jan. 19, 20, and 21 in Mesquite Nev. The camp is for individual players or teams from ages 7-18 who will be then be divided into age groups. Orangeville City Dog Licenses
2008 dog licenses are now available at the Orangeville City Hall. Fees are $25 for a non-altered dog and $8 for a spayed/neutered dog. A rabies clinic will be held on Feb. 23 at the new fire station in Orangville from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.

A local veterans employment representative visits the Castle Dale DWS Office the first Wednesday of each month. CASA Volunteers Needed
Each year hundreds of children in Emery and Carbon counties become wards of the juvenile court system due to child abuse, neglect or abandonment. The child welfare system can only devote so much time and attention to each individual case and, consequently, to each individual child. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) Volunteers are ordinary men and women who find it in their hearts and their schedules to help these abused and neglected children.
