Cheryl Wooddell Ryder
FERRON�Cheryl Wooddell Ryder, age 51, previously of Price, returned to her Heavenly Father Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008. She was born Nov. 30, 1956, in Ogden, Utah, to Norvin Ira and Beverly Ann Christiansen Butler. She married James Powell Ryder III on March 27, 1984. They later divorced.
Cheryl became an RN graduating with honors. In her career as an RN, she enjoyed working with the elderly. Her hobbies included crafting, gardening, fishing, barbequing, picnicking, rock hunting, reading, puzzles, and her pets. Cheryl especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, family, and friends. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She always gave unconditional love to others.
Cheryl is survived by two children: Kimberly (Dustin) Deto and Kevin (Felicia) Wooddell, both of Ferron; one sister, Linda (James) Motte of Price; three brothers: Norvin (Lily) Butler of Bradshaw, Neb., Brent (Janae) Butler of Ogden, and Scott Butler of Arizona; and six grandchildren: Kaydee, Tyler, Dylan, Ashly, Tristen, and Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father and a sister, Deborah Ann Butler.
Funeral services were Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at 12 noon at the Millsite LDS Ward Chapel, 35 West 200 North, Ferron. A viewing was held Friday from 11-11:45 a.m. at the church prior to the services. Interment will be in the Ferron City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
Theo Wood
EAST CARBON- Our loving mother, grandmother, and friend, Theo Maureen Trewhella Wood, age 81, passed away peacefully Feb. 27, 2008 at her home in East Carbon.
She was born Aug. 5, 1926 in Providence, R.I. to Donald and Margaret Anastasia Mulhearn Trewhella.
Married Harry S. Wood June 7, 1947 in College Park, Md., he later died June 17, 1984.
Theo, a fine and dignified lady had a true passion for life. With every day came a new opportunity. No matter the circumstance she kept her sense of humor.
She was very proud of the fact that she was the first woman Rotarian in the state of Utah. She was a resident of East Carbon since 1968 and a member of the East Carbon Rotary. She was the Justice of the Peace for many years. Theo had a great love for her family and traveling. She now takes her final journey. Bon Voyage.
Survived by her children, Aleta MacFarlane, Las Vegas; Robin (Robert) Trujillo, East Carbon; Kathy (John) Wenzel, Highland, Md.; Heather (Perry) Moore, Whitefish, Mont.; Dave Wood, Montana; 10 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents; son, Chris Wood; baby Sue; and sister, Janet Barr.
Memorial service, Wednesday, March 5, 2008, 11 a.m. Mitchell Funeral Home.

Jo Ann Blanchard
GREEN RIVER-Jo Ann Blanchard, age 72, passed away peacefully in her sleep Feb. 25, 2008.
She was born April 29, 1935 in Monta Vista, Colo. to Ralph Clark and Laura Josephine Ginders McDonald.
Married Francis “Frank” Blanchard, June 17, 1973 in Phoenix, Ariz.; he died Oct. 8, 1997.
“Granny” was a resident of Green River for 17 years where she worked as an EMT with the Green River Ambulance Service. She loved quilting, fishing, camping, and bowling. Her greatest love was sharing time with her children and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. “Granny”was an excellent cook and she enjoyed sharing her specialities with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survived by her children, Alan (Sue), Kaman Islands; Lois (Randy), Green River; Arlene (Johnny), Dover, Ark.; Linda (Bob), Grivette, Ark.; Pam (Chris), Vernal, Utah; Sharon (Kenneth), Mike, both of Green River; Paul (Lacey), Rupert, Idaho; also survived by 39 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents, two grandsons, one great-granddaughter, and brother, Bill McDonald.
Funeral service was held Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, 11 a.m., Green River Bible Church. The family received friends at the church Friday one hour prior to service. Interment, Elgin Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price.
LaMont Gordon
CASTLE DALE�LaMont Gordon, age 49, an energetic man always on the go, and always willing to help others, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2008, due to complications of a stroke. LaMont was full of personality and constantly looking for a new adventure.
LaMont was born on July 30, 1958 to Ross and Reva Gordon in Price, Utah. He married Lori Frandsen in April of 1978. They later divorced in 2002.
LaMont spent his entire life saving the lives of others. He was a member of the Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Posse for 24 years. There was never a time that LaMont didn’t jump out of bed in the middle of the night to find a stranded hiker or repel down 100 foot cliffs to save a rock climber. His police scanner was constantly blaring so that he would always know if anyone was lost or in need of help.
LaMont was an avid outdoorsman. On Sundays he would always take his dog, Koda, hiking. He enjoyed ice fishing, repelling, and geocaching. LaMont enjoyed taking his four-wheeler or jeep to the desert to find new trails.
LaMont, we love you so much and will greatly miss the joy, happiness, strength, and love that you instilled in every life that you touched.
He is survived by his daughters and son: Missy Gordon of Salt Lake City, Jenna (Daniel) Madsen and grandson, Ryan, of Castle Dale, and Jeffrey Gordon of Castle Dale; his parents, Ross and Reva Gordon of Huntington; his siblings: Dennis (Peggy) Gordon of Huntington, Don (Paula) Gordon of Huntington, Charlene (Rue) Bell of Orangeville, and Brenda (Hallie) Lemon of Ferron; his girlfriend, LuAnn Koch of Castle Dale; his friend Sarah Mullaly of Moab; and his dog Koda.
He was preceded in death by his brother Mark Gordon.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Huntington LDS Stake Center, 215 North Main Street in Huntington.There will be a viewing held on Tuesday March 4, from 6-8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary, 720 North Center Street in Castle Dale, and at 11 a.m. at the church prior to the services. Interment will be in the Huntington City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.

Katie Ori
HELPER-Katie Bianco Ori, our beloved mother, Noni (grandmother), great-grandmother, sister, aunt and devoted friend to all that knew her passed away quietly on Feb. 27, 2008 after a short illness at the age of 92.
She was born on March 9, 1915 in Kenilworth, Utah to Antoinette and Bernardo Bianco. Married her sweetheart Geno Ori on Oct. 19, 1936 in Price, Utah; he passed away on Aug. 30, 1991.
Geno and Katie spent their entire lives living in the coal mining communities of Peerless, Sweets, Latuda and later making their home in Helper, raising their family and taking care of entire communities of neighbors and friends. Katie was and always will be a pillar of the community of Helper.
She loved this little town and all who live here. She was a longtime supporter of Helper Rescue and Fire Department, Helper Mining Museum, Helper’s Electric Light Parade, St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, local baseball leagues and many other organizations.
Katie loved helping and caring for anyone in need. Her greatest love was her family of whom she was so proud. She enjoyed family gatherings, especially a polenta dinner with everyone there to enjoy it with her. During the springtime you could always find her digging dandelions in her favorite fields around town, bringing them home to clean and giving them to her entire family. She always made sure all of those family and friends that had passed were taken care of and decorated every Memorial Day. She was a longtime member of Stella D’America Italian Lodge # 77 and St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.
Her work here on earth is complete and she has gone to be the angel we all know and love in heaven. Katie, we love you so very much and will greatly miss the joy, happiness, strength and love that you have instilled in every life that you touched.
She was preceded in death by her husband Geno, parents, step-father, Vince Brackett; sister, Mary Regruto; brothers, John Bianco and Louis Brackett; nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Survived by her sons, Geno Ori Jr (Gaylene) of Scottsdale, Ariz., Jack Ori and Kelly Dunn, Helper; six grandchildren, Todd, Scott, Rick, Nicole, Jimmy and Randy Ori; eight great-grandchildren, loving sisters, Antoinette “Netta” Burton, Edith Tonc and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass, was celebrated Monday, March 3, 2008, 10 a.m., St. Anthony Catholic Church in Helper. Vigil service was held Sunday evening 7 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home in Price. Committal service, Mt. View Cemetery, Helper.

Darwin (Dobby) Dal Guymon
Darwin “Dobby” Guymon was born Dec. 7, 1946, in Rexburg, Idaho. He passed away Feb. 24 2008, in Price, Utah. He was the son of Otto Dal and Darlene Bell Guymon.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, daughter, Desiree Lee (Brett) Harwood, and son, Darby Dal Guymon.
He is survived by, daughter: Dori Lou (Brad) Linnell of Eureka, Mont., son: Dan David (Jane) Guymon of Price, Utah, grand children, Tamarisk and Devin Harwood, Ty, Tel, Taylor, Terrell, and Trey Linnell, Shel, Chalee, and Daniel Guymon, brothers and sisters, Darce (Peggy) Guymon, DeMar (Janice) Guymon, Danna Jo (Wes) Gray, Darlene (Louis) Chase, Debra (Dennis) Cox, Darla Joy (R. Scott) Wilson, and special friend and sweetheart, Kim Lund Mortensen.
He was highly respected in his profession in the mining community as an instructor and served as Director of the Mining Department at CEU. Most recently he served as an instructor at Southeast Applied Technology College. Basically anything he set his mind to, Dobby accomplished with excellence.
He loved his family (especially his children and grandchildren), friends, horses, playing pool, sitting around exchanging stories and telling jokes.
Dobby left his mark on life and will be missed.
Marie P. Mitchell
WENATCHEE, Wash.- Marie P. Mitchell, age 97, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008.
She was born Feb. 6, 1911 in Cle Elum, Wash. to John and Regina Tokarsyck Lawrence.
She lived in Wenatchee for 10 years. She worked for the Catholic church in Utah and Bremerton and was a homemaker.
Survived by her son Mike Lyons, Wenatchee; sisters, Rose Lawrence, Cle Elum and Pauline Backs, Stanwood.
Graveside service, Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, 1 p.m., Price City Cemetery, Price, Utah.

Kieran Edith Henderson
PRICE-Our precious little angel Kieran Edith Henderson touched our lives forever on Feb. 24, 2008.
She was the loving daughter of Elizabeth Anne Bordea and Chenaniah Curtis Henderson.
Kieran is survived by her parents, Elizabeth and Chenaniah, big brother, Dmitri Bordea, all of Price; grandparents, Marjorie Rampe, New Hampton, NY, Charles W. and Diana Bordea, Price; great-grandparents, Rhoda and Daniel Bordea, Price, Cecillia Janette, Tampa, Fla., Rhoda (Roscoe) Adkins, Peach Creek, WV; aunts and uncles, Daniel and Edith Rampe, New Hampton, Fla.; Carl (Nicole) Henderson, Nyack, NY; Cassandra Bordea and Todd Layne, Price.
Preceded in death by her grandpa, Carl Henderson, and great-grandmother, Sadie Cooper.
