Not your ordinary scissor cut for a ribbon cutting, but the extrication device for the fire department makes the cut as Clark Atwood, fire chief demonstrates its use.

Elmo Town Mayor Kirk Rasmussen proudly welcomed the Elmo Fire Station into the town with the official ribbon cutting ceremony.
This wasn’t an ordinary ribbon cutting as fire chief, Clark Atwood took after the ribbon with the extracation device recently obtained for the Elmo Fire department.
The Elmo Fire Station was built with money from the Community Impact Board. The new fire station also includes a meeting room for the Elmo Town Council to meet for their council meetings which are held monthly on the second Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. Elmo firefighters are part of a highly trained volunteer force and seem very pleased with the new facility which houses the fire trucks and will also serve as a place for training sessions. There are three offices and restrooms that are housed in the building. The building was built by Stilson and Sons Construction under the direction of Lewis Stilson.
Additional equipment was purchased for the fire department including the extracation device and new hoses.

The new Elmo fire station boasts three large bays, a city office and meeting room.
