Free Garden Manure
Free garden manure at the Carbon County Sheriff’s Posse station on 1000 North 1100 East next to the Toy Atwood ball fields. Come and get a load on May 3 from 8:30 a.m. to noon. A loader will be available and someone will load your truck or trailer. First come-first served.
Heritage Days Rodeo Concessions

Attention Landowners and Farmers Pipeline Awareness Meeting
For those that live on or near pipeline rights-of-way. The pipeline group will be holding a public awareness meeting open to landowners and farmers who are located or work near a pipeline right of way. The meeting will be held at the Carbon County fairgrounds event center, 393 South Fairgrounds Road, Price, on May 20 at 6:30 p.m. A free buffet dinner will be served for all the attendees from Carbon and Emery counties. Cougar Arts Festival
The first annual Cougar Arts Festival is to be held on May 1, from 6-8 p.m. The festival is informal and students, parents and other guests are welcome to stop by the school at any point during the two-hour time slot. The festival will feature student readings, musical performances, and a presentation by the Canyon View Drama Club of the short play Thelma Goes Psychic.
Stroke and Osteoporosis Screening
Residents living in and around Huntington are invited to come in for a free screening. The complete screening package now includes a new Heart Rhythm screening which checks for irregular heartbeat, a major risk factor for stroke. CEU Prehistoric Museum presents Works of Shaman Featuring Charles M. Huckeba
Artistic recreations of American Indian rock art that are masterpieces in their own right. The show can be seen at the museum art gallery through June 2008. General admission charges apply.

Baseball Tournament

Womens and Mens Slow Pitch Softball
Emery County Recreation is registering teams for womens slow pitch softball and mens slow pitch softball. The mens league will be a metal bat league. All forms must be returned to the Recreation office no later than May 16. Full registration fee must accompany the form. Nominations will be accepted for Utah’s outstanding older worker for 2008 until June 1. An online nomination form or a printed nomination form can be accessed at www.experienceworks.org. Power Wheelchairs Available
The Senior Wheels USA Program makes available power wheelchairs to senior citizens and the permanently disabled at no cost to the recipient, if they qualify. The power wheelchairs are provided to those who can no longer walk safely, nor self propel a manual wheelchair and who meet the additional guidelines of the program. J.B. is the author and illustrator of Camp Were Wolf. If you have a copy, bring it in and get it autographed. The Star Grill will have copies of both Camp Were Wolf and Franky Frankinstain. The official release date of Franky Frankinstain, is June 17.
Emery All-star Cheerleading
Emery All-star Cheerleading Elite competition team tryouts will be held May 13, 14, 16, 17 at LaRae’s Dance Studio. This is for ages 10-18.
