Hunter Safety Class
A hunter safety class will be held June 2-5 at the Emery County Recreation Center. Class will be from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. each day. There is no age or class limit. You must pre-register by May 29. Participants will be required to obtain a voucher at a licensed vendor for the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources prior to registering for the class. Orangeville Days June 6-7
June 6 8:30 p.m. movie night in the park (free).June 7, 6:30 a.m. fun run meet at Community Center $5 registration fee, 7 a.m. flag raising at the park, 7-9 a.m. breakfast in the park $2 per plate, 10 a.m. parade (participants needed please contact Kevin Reynolds), 11 a.m.-3 p.m. concessions, races, slides, games, softball game (contact Carole Larsen), horse shoes, and water games, 1 p.m. guitar hero $2.50 registration fee, at the Community Center, 5:30 p.m. Humphrey Brothers Lamb Fry $5 for 9 years and up, $3 for 8 years and under, fireworks at dusk at the ball complex on Mill Dam Road.
Women in the Outdoors “Flockers”
Bear Creek Campground July 11-12. All ladies 14 and up are invited to the Third Annual event. Leave the husbands, boyfriends, pets and small children at home and come have a couple of fun-filled days with just the girls. Pre-registration required. Outdoor workshops including archery, fly fishing, crafts, dutch oven cooking, GPS, canoeing, outdoor survival, mountain man, herb gardening, game calling, concealed weapons permit, and much more. Participation fee includes meals, four workshops, membership to the National Wild Turkey Federation, one year subscription to NWTF’s Women In The Outdoors magazine, camping, and tons of fun. This is a non-competitive event. Relay for Life Memory Wall

Summer 4-H to Begin
Flyers have been placed at each elementary school for students in grades 3-6. Pick one up from your teacher. If they do not have one, contact the USU Extension office at 381-2381. Activities will include cake decorating, child care, sewing, arts and crafts. A new program will be scrapbooking. Join us for the fun.

Food Handler’s Classes
Food handler’s classes will be held at the SEUDHD, 25 West Main, Castle Dale on the following dates: May 22, and June 19. Classes will be held at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. For more information call 381-2252.
Nighttime in the Goblins
Join the park naturalist May 23 at Goblin Valley State Park in Green River for an evening walk through the goblins. Find out how the goblins came to be and who lurks around in the night. Junior Ranger Program
May 24 at Goblin Valley State Park in Green River. Predators and Prey: Who are the predators and who are the prey at Goblin Valley? How do they survive in this harsh environment? This program is geared toward children 6-12, but everyone is welcome. Earn a Junior Ranger badge and have fun. Meet at 9:30 a.m. at the Observation Point above the Valley of the Goblins. The Wet Desert
May 24 at Goblin Valley State Park in Green River. There is no denying that Goblin Valley does not get a lot of rain. But water has unmistakably left its mark all over the landscape. From violent flash floods to ephemeral water pockets, join park staff to see how water carves, nurtures, and defines the desert. Meet at 8:30 p.m. at the amphitheater just past the campground. Second Annual Rock, Fossil and Mineral Show
The Second Annual Castle Country Rock, Fossil and Mineral show will be held on June 6 from noon-7 p.m. and on June 7 from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Free admission and door prizes will be awarded. Held at the College of Eastern Utah in the J. Leavitt Student Center Ballroom at 526 North and 300 East.
Blackout 2008
Emery High Graduation party will be held on May 22 at Star Theatre from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. This will be sponsored by Four Corners and Peer Helpers. Ninth-12th grade students are invited. Everything is free. Activities will include boxing, food, rockwall climbing, jousting, street dance and a late night movie.
