Green River welcomes the new volunteers with a Pirate Party. |
AmeriCorps* NCCC is in Green River again. This year among the many services that they provide to the community, they will be helping with the Community Center/Boys and Girls Club Summer Camp, (School of Rock) where they will mentor youth, help with educational programs, service and sports activities.
Having an AmeriCorps* NCCC Team here is truly a blessing; these young people give a year of their lives to help others. Green 2 arrived in Green River May 16 and they will be with us until July 17 when they will return to their homes and families.
Some of them will go on to jobs, some to school while some will sign up for another year of service with AmeriCorps*.
When AmeriCorps* NCCC arrived in Green River May 16, the youth at the Community Center/Boys and Girls Club welcomed them with a “Pirate” Party. Everyone had a great time with “Pirate hats and even a treasure chest cake baked and decorated by Mora Zamudio. One of Mora’s life choices is to one day open a bakery.
