FFA students attend the State FFA convention in Cedar City.

This year we went to Cedar City for State FFA Convention where we attended sessions, workshops and received awards.
This year Keven Jensen tried out for state office he received State FFA Sentinel 2008-2009, Keven also was the recipient for the $1,000 IFA Scholarship.
The Chapter was recognized for some of the work they have done for the last year including Superior Chapter Award, Food For America Program Award, and the Five Star Chapter Award.
We also met with the National officer Kari Boetcher and also the National FFA Advisor Larry Case. We also had the chance to listen to Kaitlin Reaves a former chapter member give her State Officer Retiring Address.
Recently, the chapter sent two teams to the Utah Envirothon in Moab, sponsored by the local USDA/NRCS office where they competed in forestry, wildlife, aquatics, soil, current issue and a scenario problem presentation. The FFA team of Keven Jensen, Tamra Luke, Morgan Clark, and John Tucker finished second over-all in the FFA bracket and outright won the aquatics and wildlife divisions. On May 15, we held our annual parent-member banquet and recognized students for their achievements and established a new officer team for the upcoming year President Sarah Jensen, Vice President Adam Clark, Secretary/Treasurer Andrea Price, Reporter Zac Walls, Sentinel Mackenzie Grange. We also honored our keynote speaker Wayne Urie and fellow USDA staff members Roger Barton, Jim Greenan, and Mary Kava.
